This location is beautiful. Lots of areas to check out the water nearby. The full sized refrigerators are great as well as the kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This property is very clean. Everything is outdated. The pull out sofa has a super thin mattress. You can feel the bars on your back easily. The mattress on the bed of the honeymoon suite is hard. I prefer a hard mattress but you may as well sleep on the floor. When you stay somewhere else for a night or two you want to sleep well. When I got here I was thinking about staying an extra night but after trying to sleep on the hard bed, there is no way I'm staying here another night.

I was so happy with my visit that I have booked my room for next year's getaway but I really hope I do not have to wait that long. I cannot wait to take my family there in the summer. M kids would love the pool and the game room. I cannot wait to show them Southern Oaks. Thank you Bonnie and Southerns Oaks for giving me a perfect weekend.

My friend discovered Southern Oaks Resort online when we were looking for a weekend getaway. I would recommend it to everyone. We did not want to leave because it was so refreshing and beautiful! It is a small, intimate property... perfect for family reunions and weddings as well as a family getaway. Bonnie, her family, and staff not only make their guests feel welcome, but also make it feel like they belong there. I was also recuperating from a health issue and Bonnie was very sensitive and sympathetic to my needs. It was a perfect place to do some healing and I will be forever grateful that I got to spend time there. I was so happy with my visit, that I have booked my room for next year's getaway.But, I really hope I do not have to wait that long. I am going to beg my husband to take our family there in the summer. My kids would love the pools and game room. I cannot wait to show them Southern Oaks. My husband and I decided to get away for our anniversary, even though we live only a short distance away. Picking Southern Oaks was the best decision we made, our weekend was great!! The honeymoon cottage was great and we enjoyed the hot tub to ourselves and the salt water pool was amazing. All employees were pleasant and friendly and we will be going again very soon.
