Went here to celebrate sons b-day with their school friends. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They offer rides for kids as young as 5-6 and above. My 6 year old loved the horse ride. Very scenic place. Will definitely try again.

Great experience for the pony walks! Check in process was organized. Online booking was easy with lots of availability. Unlike the other local operations, Garrod Farms uses ponies versus horses so it's more comfortable for small children. They also lead the ponies on a real trail versus around a dirt arena. Parents can follow along behind on the trail. It was really lovely. Next time we'll be sure to time it right so we can visit the outdoor tasting room afterwards!

What a beautiful trail. We loved our trail guide and good ole Smokey the horse. I had Cowboy and he was a hoot. Learned new things about the area. We'll be going again and the wine tasting was awesome too.

My husband, granddaughter and I were gifted a trail ride for Christmas. We went on Sunday and it was so amazing! Our trail guide was Iris and she was very knowledgeable and very sweet to our 12 yr old granddaughter. The horses were all great. We rode Cowboy, Oakley and Checo. We don’t usually ride at Garrod Farms, but it was a nice time. The day couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather even cooperated. We might go back for more fun!

With garrod trainers, $71.
There are trail rides that are a lot of fun. The staff picks the horses for you depending on your skill level.
At least 8, generally. So that could likely work :)
Anyone can ride as long as they are 8 years or older (or 3 years for pony walks) and under the weight limit. Trail rides are $69 per person for an hour.
Lesson horses can be used for small jumps if the instructor feels a student is prepared. Boarder horses' owners and Artisan Stables (which rents barn space) may also offer some, depending on availability and again, preparedness.
The trainee program through the stables office takes students aged 13 and above, but this is a volunteer/learning position until one has progressed to hiring status.
