I called into the Sheriff's office and got a call back within just a few minutes from one of their Deputies. I was shocked at his knowledge, thoughtfulness and more so the empathy and kindness he displayed. When experiencing any issues during a crisis of fluctuating/odd laws in California, and it seems one curveball after another, it's been even more trying for people when calling to find some help at a variety of organizations and being thrown off to the internet, dead phone lines, incompetent people, and some who are just rude and unhelpful. Especially with lots of changes in Sonoma County. Many times I find when you finally get to a live human being who might be able to help, there's a "shortness" most people display - not wanting to give more than 10 seconds of their time. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Deputy Ryan Foiles, as he is a shining example today of someone who shows care, intelligence, professionalism, sincerity and who comes from his heart and wants to truly help. He answered every question I had, and he did so by listening and advising me with specific strategies that could help. He was so patient and present with listening to me... I am so grateful. Also, the girl at the front desk was personable and helpful. I feel better being educated on why what is happening is happening rather than being in the dark. The clarity Deputy Foiles gave me was so helpful. He was so articulate and informative! I got a valuable lesson from him in just 20 minutes that summed up what I've been searching for online and dead-ends for the past 7 months! I can imagine how stressful it is for the sheriff's department right now with so many angry unreasonable people, and I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your deputy and the feeling of being taken care of and given concrete information to go with it. Thank you, thank you!

I was traveling eastbound on river road from 101 when a driver came up behind me in the other lane at a very high rate of speed passing cars. when she passed me there was an oncoming driver who avoided a head on collision by a matter of feet. I followed the vehicle as I called 911. I was connected to CHP dispatcher and gave her all the info and she said there were officers in the area. I continued to follow the driver on backstreets until she pulled into the sheriff's substation in Guerneville. The sherriffs weren't aware of my 911 call. Another driver pulled up and had notice her driving erratically and followed her also. The deputies interviewed all 3 of us and determined it was a misunderstanding and let her go! What?? I had a picture of her car and video of her passing over double yellow lines. They weren't interested in it.

Questions & Answers

The big question for Sunday night is why didn’t anyone get an Amber Alert??? Everyone we know had the same question!! The city was on fire and nobody received anything from the city. It wa all coming from friends.

Amber Alwet is set up for criminal activity, to be on the lookout for individual (?), and or vehicles related to an abduction. It came out of a tragic story. Maybe legislation needs to be developed for some fire funds/taxes to be set aside for emergency fire alerts.

It depends where the crime was committed. If it was on city jurisdiction or County. Either one you'll have to go into the office and file a report with the front desk.

Does anyone know when Mark West Springs Road will reopen to residents? I'm not getting nixel reports anymore for some reason!?!

I suggest looking on the Sonoma County Sheriff website. That's the best place to get official info. It's current and accurate
