The ELEAT program seems like a total scam -- application process is deceiving (followed instructions to a T and then had copy of application returned to me with additional info needed that was never asked for in the first place), disrespectful of your personal info (I paid all this money to send my application in registered since it includes a lot of personal info like SSN...they returned a copy of all my documents via regular mail...not secure or considerate), and frustrating/ineffectual communication (staff assigned to my case - Jose - never answers the phone or returns any calls when leaving him messages, and there is no way to reach any human being and ask simple questions). Needless to say, I couldnt get any clarification and didnt want to waste any more time or money so I gave up on applying. Way to support your low income constituents ELEAT team!!!

It really depends on who's over your paperwork and the people who sends out the funding. It can take 2 weeks to 3 months but once they make a pledge on your account, it's pretty much taken care of and it definitely stops your lights or gas from being cut off.
