I like trains so this was way cool. They got actual working trains that you can ride in, you gotta buy a ticket though. Definitely a must if you are a train enthusiast or only have a small interest in trains.

Took our 4 year old grandson to ride on the train. He enjoyed checking out the inside the old trains parked there and the gift shop. We went on Sunday afternoon. 40 people were on the train. Everyone wore a mask. It was a pleasant adventure.

Took my 20 month old son on the Santa train and it was lovely. The train ride was a nice little trip, perfect length for younger children, where we learned about the trains and saw jackrabbits, elk, and the windmills. Afterwards we met the most magical Santa on a stationary train inside the museum. There was also hot cocoa and cookies and many old trains to explore. Everyone working was masked except of course Santa π

This museum is a rarity, in that the streetcars and trains are kept in running order by volunteers, and you can ride them for several miles of electrified track. If you get a membership, THEY LET YOU DRIVE ONE on members day. It was a highlight of my entire life. Great for kids, they put on an awesome pumpkin patch and Santa train. For those event days youβll need to order tickets in advance.

I don't think I saw one no.. Definitly trains that were used along time ago .. And how the trains run etc.
Hi prices are Adults β $10 Seniors (over 65) β $9 Children (2-14) β $7
The museum area is free...the train rides cost $10 for adults $7 for kids. Tickets are good all day for any train rides.
Hi Justin. Yes, the museum will be operating weekends in April. This is typically the month of our annual Spring Scenic Limited trains, so it's a good chance to visit the museum and ride historic rail cars that are more rarely operated.
Worth it to step back in time and have a docent's tour. Family memberships are very reasonable.
Hi Brett, Yes, we are open! We are currently on our standard operating schedule of Saturdayβs and Sundayβs 10:30 am to 5 pm We look forward to seeing you at the museum!
Yes a tiny tiny store that have porncorn cookies drinks and yes they have a lot of tables for picnic
The museum itself is wheelchair accessible. However due to the historic nature of our trains most require a transfer up approximately 2-3 high steps. We do have a newer car from San Diego which does have a wheelchair lift, if you let us know in advance we will happily try to arrange getting it out for you.
I've never called in advance. Even during the pumpkin patch season. But to be on the safe side give a call. The train does trips all day and they have a great picnic area and have a small snack bar as well. Be sure to check out all the exhibits inside as well as the gift/bookstore which has a childrens play area as well.
Hi Tiffany, the Western Railway Museum is not a current participant in the Museum's for All program. You can find more details about what museum's are included in the program by visiting: https://museums4all.org/participating-museums/ You can find more information about tickets for our Pumpkin Patch Festival on our website at: https://www.wrm.org/events/item/29-pumpkin-patch-festival
They have the date stamped on them and usually when you board they take the ticket. They are very nice and if you explain your situation I'm sure they'll understand!
Yes, they do.
I've been twice and they've never mentioned it. I think the tower is at the railtown State Historic Park in Jamestown
It was about 45 minutes. They present information about the interurban train system during the ride
Unfortunately there are no plans to restore the 334 or 94 at this time.
yes dogs are allowed as long as they behave, they either have to sit on the floor or in your lap while on the train.
