Starting with the pros, the estate is beautiful with lots of great gathering spaces and support many fun activities on site with pool, tennis courts etc. Now the downsides. The management and service left a lot to be desired. We found them to be rude and unhelpful. We never got any room service and when we asked for late checkout, they said they would get back to me and never did. They also tried to charge us twice. The rooms were so so. My shower door would not stay shut. For some reason, they thought it a good idea to have bright cold lighting in the bedroom? I talked to other guests and they found similar quirks in each of their room. All in all, this is definitely not a 4-star hotel. There is so much potential and I hope they can improve.

I never wound up staying at this hotel--this review is about their accounting/refund responsiveness. 1. I called to cancel a reservation a week before my scheduled stay and was told I was all set. 2. When I got my credit card bill, I saw I had been charged anyway, as if I was a "no-show" 3. I immediately called to seek a reversal of the charge. The person I spoke with told me the billing department was busy, but someone would call me back. No one ever did. 4. Approximately a week later, I called back and spoke with someone in accounting. After explaining the situation, I was told that they had just reversed the charges. I checked my account for a week. The charges were never reversed. 5. After the week passed, I called again. No one in billing answered, so I left a short voice message requesting a callback. I never got one. Finally I just asked the credit card company to disallow the charge. Not my favored way of treating a business. In this case, however, there was nothing but bad faith displayed.

I feel the price you paid for things here was not worth the accomadtions and property. The engineers, pool attendants and servers were amazing. As far as friendliness and helpfulness they were great! The room did not circulate ac and was very hot. The only option was to do a make shift space between the ac and windows bench. The bathroom was extremely small and needed to be updated.

I stayed at this hotel for a wedding and enjoyed it! You could tell that they'd recently updated the furniture and wallpaper in the rooms. I appreciated the blackout curtains and comfortable bed! The room itself was also very clean. The hotel is older, but the property has a fascinating history and is quite charming. The staff we encountered were incredibly kind and professional.
