My experience with Tokyo Automotive provided me with the laziest, most expensive, incorrect and time consuming diagnostics I have ever received from a shop. Was having O2 sensor issues on my 2004 Tundra. Brought it in to Tokyo Automotive and paid $204 for diagnostics and was quoted $2587.78 to replace the entire catalytic converter system, and three weeks without the truck for the parts to get there. This didn’t seem right to me because the entire system was just replaced, lucky for me and unlucky for the shop I am an industrial electrician by trade and one 30 minute YouTube video and 15 minutes under the truck later I found it was a loose wire causing the issue which I was able to fix for no cost at all. Not exactly sure how the shop would’ve handled the misdiagnosis because thankfully I never went through with the work but I find it hard to believe they would’ve been honest with me after leaving me without my truck for 3 weeks and charging me $2500. They likely wouldn’t have said a thing. The entire experience as a whole wasn’t terrible Kevin at the front desk was great, the dogs in the office are adorable and friendly, and they have a great system to update you on work done to the vehicle but they failed at the most important thing in a big way: actual work being done.

Brought my daughter’s Subie in because she had been complaining that her car was stumbling at times and her check engine light came on. George was really thorough on the test drive and his report and recommendations for repairs were very detailed and gave me confidence in the shop. I have been looking for a reliable shop that I can trust to take care of my daughter’s car. I am very happy with the work that Tokyo did and they will be taking care of my cars from now on.

Tokyo Automotive was absolutely amazing and super communicative. I was able to get my car maintenance done here and Kevin helped me set up my appointment and let me know how my car was doing every step of the way. He arranged for me to be dropped off at work by Albert, one of the mechanics at the shop and everyone there I interacted with was super friendly. Would highly recommend bringing your car here!

I am glad I came to this shop, being a proud owner of 1996 Toyota LandCruiser on a budget, when something goes wrong, I fear the worst, i know it is not an easy truck to work with, when I brought it here, they did the inspection and talked to me about the possibilities, they advised me to do some preliminary work on it and see if the issue went away, they were so knowledgeable that they did advise me on the major things that i can prepare for and not tried to do it right away, their judgement was so great, My truck feels totally rejuvenated and for now it drives great with the initial recommendation. I will definitely comeback when the time comes for another service, they were so courtesy, they give me a ride home and pick me up when the truck was completed. Thank you very much!
