It was the perfect day. The beach was clean and so nice! Hoping it stays that was for the rest of the summer.

Four stars because nothing is perfect. It's a beautiful beach. Very clean. Peaceful and relaxing the day I was there. Albeit a touch windy. There were para-surfers having a great time. Overall - a great place.

Everything was great, but being forced to pay $40 for parking for a couple hours was a shock we were not prepared for...this is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars. However, the bathrooms were close by, clean, and sufficient; the beach was clean of trash and full of shells to look at. You can see Long Island in the distance. The waves are very small because it's the Long Island sound but that's ok. If you can carpool or find a different place to park, do it. Go, have fun, enjoy the live music (we got live music) if there is some and there is an ice cream truck.

Pleasant little beach and picnic area along the water. The boardwalk is well maintained and there are places to eat and shop along the way. Great marshlands for birdwatching as well. $5 parking during the summers, come early for the small pavilions. The big pavilion is by rental only.

Yes it is open to the public daily now.
I don't remember if there are grills there, but I've seen people bring their own and grill there.
2 hour free parking is in the street close by. Its 15 Dollars for non residents to park during the day but usually you can drive right in after 430. If you need to stay all day without worry of a ticket park all the way back up Viscount in the neighborhood no restrictions.
