Holiday Inn & Suites Parsippany Fairfield, an IHG Hotel

I’m usually a 5-star reviewer but my 2nd time around was average. The bathroom design is tiny and not functional. Almost burned myself in the shower, mentioned it to the front desk and the response was indifference. Amenities like the pool wasn’t opened and that would have helped since it was 95 degrees out. Hotel will get the job done especially if you have a large vehicle. But all those fancy pics in here isn’t really representative of the experience coming from someone who stays in IHG hotels every night.

In the past, I’ve stayed here and found my stay to be satisfactory. However, last month, I stayed here for a weekend with a friend and found the visit to be terrible. There was no hot water, there were insufficient towels, the room keys didn’t work and we had to get them replaced every day. To top it all off, the hotel fraudulently charged me an additional hundred bucks because they claimed we took their pillows, which was an absurd lie; our bags were not even big enough for one pillow, never mind four. The staff could have handled this politely, but have instead made the issue more complicated. I do NOT like leaving negative reviews and would have liked leaving a positive one, but this hotel needs to step up its game and treat guests better. At the least, they need to provide functioning hot water and not make fraudulent charges on people’s credit cards.

I was not greeted as a IHG member. Housekeeping interrupted us asking when we were going to check out. Why are they asking if Check Out is at Noon? Now if they needed the room sooner than offer me a free stay, comp my room or give me some points. Then breakfast was ok, but what happen to the waffle makers and regular sausage. Not everyone eats Turkey Suasage, and the kids love the waffle maker. At least the coffee was great!!

My Mom and I enjoyed our stay. The room was cleaned and beds were comfortable The only thing that we didn't like was the heating thermostat panel. We had trouble getting a comfortable warm room temperature. It was old and it needs an upgrade.
