I do not like having to say negative comments, but this time I will. I just had a negative experience with Toni at A Wish For Animals. I am somebody ready to adopt a dog. A puppy. A rescue puppy for $500. My husband and I have been puppy proofing our house for a new family member. I was contacted at night at 9:15pm with a Los Angeles area coder phone number. Of course, I did not answer. I did not know who it could be. Next day I return the call from Toni at AWFA. She never returned my call. Then I texted, she responded that she would call me back that day. She never did. I waited up til 10:30pm thinking she was going to call me back. She didn't. Finally at 11:30 am the following day she calls back and makes excuses for not calling me like she said she would. Then when I talked to her, she talked down to me very condescending tone. She was rude, curt and all she wanted to talk about was money. Her questions were hypothetical. The questionnaire also asked hypothetical, ridiculous questions. A little puppy could have a warm loving home right now. How rude this woman was to me. You would think that people that work with and for animals would be kind, warm and caring. Unlike Toni.

These people do not care about their animals. We fostered a mom and her 6 pups. They came and took the pups and sold them for 500 each. Left mama with us. We took her to get spayed and they said they'd pay for it. When we picked mama up they asked for cash for what the rescue wouldn't cover. Iv fluids etc. We paid out of pocket. The rescue said they'd send a check and never did. Two more months went by and they didn't check on her.

I can't say enough great things about this rescue. Their love and care for animals is over the top and Toni does a fantastic job finding a good forever home for all her animals. I am so grateful to have Lucy as a part of our family. The adoption fee covers all shots, spayed/neuter and micro chip. They even treated Lucy for worms and trimmed her nails. Thank you to A Wish For Animals. We love the work you do.

Reviews are usually only sent because someone was asked or because you had an awful experience. I have literally found a place that cares. My family adopted a young puppy that was great for 3 days. Then took a turn and we thought it was going to be it. We went to the emergency room for animals and they told us parvo. Well this shelter took it upon themselves to help guide us through. Toni was available at all hours and she provide us Laura who came by on Christmas Eve and Christmas to provide care. This was at home care and not something they have to do. Not only is Chip back and acting a like a puppy but a wish for animals helped nurse him to perfect health. Why for you: They provide ideas and how to care for your puppy They provide updates and instant feedback They want it to work ( you get interviewed and need to send videos of where the dog will be) You spend 1 hour with the puppy before you get to adopt the puppy to make sure there is a connection They take care of booster shots and other processes for the first 6 months I highly recommend as this experience was a first!

We are a rescue group not a shelter we run off of fosters and do adoption events every weekend in orange county. Google requires a po box for our address. If you go to our website all the info is there. You can email or call us if you would like to see a dog at one of our events.
