The BIGGEST ripoff ever. $300 to get my dog spayed and have a couple shots. They have some kind of agreement with the nearby animal shelter. Owners are told to pick their pets up and be subject to whatever cost it's going to be. In my case, $300. It's not that much anywhere else. They included a cone for my dog for $15 (couldn't take it off the tab for whatever reason). A cheap plastic thing that must have cost the less than a dollar. I'm never going back again. Do not come here. Look for a place that doesn't require a down payment of your first born.

Will edit later so far loving service @16:29 on 05 15 15 Edit So the service here was a bit shaky, but it got better. There was a mistake where the gave the wrong kitten to the wrong person; my kitten to another person. Its okay, both looked identical from the same litter so I get it. They corrected it asap, were upfront and honest about the mistake. Even treated me sickly kitten with antibiotics free of charge since she had a bad kennel cough. I paid for her to get fixed but wasn't able to being that she was sick...it's been months and I'd forgotten until recently to set an appointment. Now that she's better I will call. I'm surprised they didn't contact me about it but I think they feared the kitten may have been too sick and died. She was in terrible shape and I was a worried mess for a week until she started improving. Love the staff, the service, etc!

My experience with General Dog & Cat Hospital goes back over many years. Dr. Zielinski has always been caring with our animals (dog and three cats). Lately, they have resealed the floors and have been working very hard to keep everything clean. I think they have done well. The building is small, and maybe some people have a problem with that, but I have not had a problem myself.

My dog was taken to General Dog and Cat Hospital after being adopted from the San Bernadino Animal Shelter. He was to be neutered and given his travel vaccinations and papers. While General was given a number to call when the procedures were done, they neglected to call, and when I called to check on him the next day, they charged me with an overnight boarding fee. Because I am not from California, I had transportation set up for when General stated the dog would be ready. I paid by credit card over the phone and was told the dog was ready and that he was in great condition. When the transportation arrived, they were told the dog was not ready and was being held until payment was made. They had apparently lost all of my information. Long story short, I was charged with another boarding fee for that night. When the dog got to me, I noticed he was covered in fleas, which General had neglected to tell me. When I called to ask about the fleas, I was told that in the surgery notes it stated he "had a few fleas, not sure about infestation". As I am from a state largely without fleas, I was shocked that he even received his travel papers in such condition, and immediately took him to my local vet when we arrived home. The local vet was horrified at the condition of the neuter (metal staples were used), and informed me that he would have to have the staples removed at a later date, another piece of information that I was not told. The vet also saw right away that there were live fleas all over the dog and prescribed him and my other dog flea medication. Her words were "your dog was butchered". AVOID THIS VETERINARIAN.

Do not wait until Saturday. Your dog is in serious danger of infection and needs to be brought to the vet immediately! No veterinary services are free but most vets will work with you on cost. But please, please, please at least bring her in today so she isn't suffering.
