Brought in my two brand new bikes that I purchased somewhere else because during my first ride, the gears were slipping so badly. Was greeted warmly and they patienly let me explain my frustration. They did a quick tune right on the spot and found the problem. Also found that my husband's wheel was lose on his bike and immediately checked mine as well. After 3 adjustments, bikes are riding like a dream. Even suggested a few other non emergency items that I need to have looked at when I get back from vacation. Had a really nice conversation while they checked out the bikes and they were clearly super knowledable and generally good guys.

Alan's bike does a great job maintaining my year old trusty Taiwanese brand bicycle. They to be among the only ones left in the area after Alpha bikes closed down in Vista. Rents in urban CA are just rising too quickly for such shops to stay in business. Thus the only ones remaining rates are high especially alpha’s sister shop Omega bikes, but they are lower than others that still operate these days. I see they also have a good stock of new bikes including some ebikes but I haven't looked into buying one so I don't know about that experience to review. The only draw back is that its not easy to get the bike in from the shared parking area behind the store as they don't have a back entrance one has to go around. There is street parking but its limited and can be dangerous to unload a bicycle beside busy 101 Coast hwy traffic. Otherwise this place is perfect for those who are in North County or are vacationing near Oceanside and happen to ride a bicycle and need assistance with their bicycles whether expected or unexpected.

We have gone here many times now and the service level is great each time. My son is also a big biking person and also goes there often. Very friendly, prompt service, addresses our issues quickly, has solutions they handle or tell us how to simply do it. Its refreshing to have this kind of service and a "go to" place for our biking needs. The young man that has helped us most on visits I believe is the manager, he certainly presents himself with knowledge and professionalism, he seems like our bike friend now. I highly recommend Alan's Bike Shop.
