The camp attendants were helpful and friendly, and answered plenty of questions. The campsites are shorter than described on recreation.gov, so be aware! The location is fantastic and the campground is huge. Just make your reservations hecka early!!

Nice campground. Flat, some shades sites. Flush toilets and faucets are walking distance from sites. Quiet area with little airport noise during the day. Very near Jackson Hole. We used this camp as our base to explore this end of the park. Suggest picking a site on the campground periphery.

Great camping. Great site sizes. Lots of space between. Paved roads which were great. Lots of wild life in and near the campground. Bear boxes provided at all sites. Great location to base for grand teton NP. Would definitely stay here again. Note you have to book to dump as the NPS restricts how many dumps per day can occur. Large boxes of fire wood + kindling included for $8. Easy friendly check in process.

Camped close to end of season (mid-September). Campground is spacious and has flat, packed and elevated tent platforms, but very little tree coverage. Bear boxes at every site. Indoor bathrooms (hot water was minimal). Apparently a good place to see moose during dawn and dusk as the willow and sagebrush are plentiful (we did see a HUGE female moose on our out of camp in the AM).

Hey Adsiduus, thank you for the question. Yes, we have a freshwater fill-up near the dump station at the entrance of the campground.
Yes at the entrance and at the restroom. Nice place..plenty of nice restroom
Hi John, All sites are first come, first serve. Mid-June to mid-August our sites can fill by early afternoon, and generally don't fill outside of that time frame. We hope to see you again this year!
We do not have showers at the campground. Our bathrooms have flush toilets and running water. There are several locations within a 15 minute drive that have showers however, and we have that information posted at the campground. Thanks!
Late September to early October can bring overnight frost and snow. Temperatures range from about 33-25 degrees in the evenings.
It means "big belly." The story is that the Native Americans tried to introduce themselves to the French trappers as the "waterfalls people," however, the hand gestures were misinterpreted to big belly, giving the area it's name today.
They have only few campsite with electric hookup and a common dumping station, some times it is pretty busy.
Gros Ventre opened on April 30 and has moved to a reservations system. If you would like to stay at Gros Ventre campground you will need to book a reservation through Recreation.gov
