I previously took CCW training back in 2018 and had a great experience. However, I waited too long to file my application and needed to retake the course. When I called to inquire about my options, I felt like the person I spoke to wasn't very friendly. I also asked if there were any discounted pricing for people like me that previously paid full price for the day class. I would have come back with even a small discount but unfortunately that was not a consideration. The customer service is deterring me from returning which is unfortunate because I previously enjoyed my experience.

My experience at Sim Trainer has been fantastic. I’ve taken the First Shots, Basic Handgun and Conceal Carry classes and the instruction is top notch. They really put emphasis on safety and making sure you understand how important it is. I enjoyed the Basic Handgun class, getting to shoot all different types of handguns helped me choose the gun I purchased for myself, now I feel much more comfortable and confident in handling and firing my handgun. Getting instruction from experienced professionals at Sim Trainer is the only way to do it!!!

The range is pretty rugged... nothing fancy. Think "Mighty Mick's Gym" from Rocky I. But what do you really need besides a backstop, Target, and a way to send it down the range? What really makes this place excellent is the quality of the training that is available. There are many different training classes that you can take, either as a public group or privately. You can participate in a tactical shooting league when you get good enough, for some very realistic training practice. Their prices on guns and gear are competitive with everybody. And lastly their members only policy means that you will never have some random bachelor party of completely untrained new Shooters come in and dominate the range. If you are serious about home and self-defense, and you like to have fun target shooting, this is the best place you can be.

I am a 30 year shooter, with US Army background, while my wife is new to shooting. I have taken her to every range in the Dayton area and SimTrainer is easily the best place. Staff was helpful and extremely kind to new shooters, there was a new shooter couple there the day we went. We are very impressed and of all the ranges this is the place we will be getting a membership. Prices were reasonable and the range was clean and well light. If there was a downside I was say you have to police your own brass, but I look at that has making the individual reasonable for their actions and area. My wife will be taking class from these folks. P.S. while there website does not have as much detail as others in the area, clearly they put their time into the customers and the range. they have a huge selection of "rental" try before you buy handguns.

It is membership only. Check website for annual prices, or three month trial. They do not have hourly or drop in shooting. That's a good thing :)
They allow .223 and 5.56 on lanes 9 and 10. Nothing larger than that. Hence no 7.62 or 30 cal or bigger.
