The man working was insightful but he deals in mostly silver coins, as I have pennies and he told me they don't sell, no one buys them, which I understand as I used to collect sports cards, but there is always a buyer if it means something to someone.

I grew up attending auction houses with my mom. Subtly I grew interested in coins, fast forward 8 years I dove head first into coin collecting summer of 2019. Mind you I’m away from family thousands of miles, not really sure what to make of things. Tom has been a tremendous help. One of those strangers you meet and are soon to call family. Upon entering Tom’s shop, “Red Line Coins,” he meets you by name. Tom has been very generous in his knowledge. For instance, today I arrived just wanting an opinion on if a coin I possessed was real or counterfeit. Tom, upon first glance, gazed, sighed & then sought his collection of knowledgeable resources. He walked around to the side, reached for a book, as many stumbled upon his scales. He let out another sigh. But was still able to show me picture for picture, word for word, and looking through his lense what was true. This isn’t a made up story. This is a man, whom despite a hard day, was able to set aside a little time to teach a newish-collector what to look for. Tom, you’re one of those guys that coin collectors, new and old, can honestly trust. One thing any collector, buyer or seller knows is that our “word,” means more than any monetary value could put a price on. If you’re looking for an honest, fair, & knowledgeable guy for coins, estates, gold or silver bullion. He’s your guy.

I haven't been to this store in many years as I moved out of the area, but throughout the 90's, the owner Tom and part time employee Burt both really helped foster my interest in the hobby. I never felt minimized or trivialized when I was shopping pennies or dimes, even if a high roller was in store looking at gold. Tom always took time to answer my questions and share trivia. I`ve now been collecting for more than 30 years and credit the hospitality and professionalism of Red Line Coins with helping to make coin collecting a lifetime hobby.

Questions & Answers

I have a 1992 wheat penny, how much does it cost?

Good morning. If it is a 1992 then it most likely a memorial penny and not a wheat penny. Most are worth a few cents but in very rare instances can be worth more. I hope that answers your question.

are they still open at this time

Depends on condition, but if it is circulated, no more than a few cents.

I found a state Quarter, Connecticut, heads facing up and on reverse when carefully turned over the Tree is at 15° , on a normal Quarter both sides are upright when carefully turned over, does anyone know if there is any value to this mistake?

I'm not sure. I know that misprinted stamps have a greater value, so it's possible. I would Google it to verify.
