When looking for a medical facility to address my pain and discomfort I researched the care philosophies of many Spokane area facilities via the internet. I settled with Northwest Spine & Pain Management but later found out that their advertisement didn’t meet my expectations. After 1-1/2 years, the frustrations built, and their excuses continued. Explanations are for things that are out of your control, excuses are an attempt to rationalize why they dropped the ball or failed to perform their professional duties. When I confronted Donald Halcrow a Physician's Assistant at NWSPM about the continues issues, he told me more than once, that there are other facilities out there if I am not satisfied. This comment from a medical professional was incredibly inappropriate and comment I never want to hear again. All I wanted was the services that I deserve as a patient, but they became annoyed and were incredibly rude when I confronted them about them continuously dropping the ball. NWSPM failed to meet my expectations and in the end, they prolonged my pain and suffering to the point that I terminated the relationship and found another professional practice. In a perfect world Donald would say, but I am not asking for perfection, just fewer excuses. Service should match the advertisement but if you are willing to be fed a full course of excuses then you might be better served elsewhere.

Antaya Webster In the beginning they were great despite the fact that I went through three different Doctors w/in one year. Id finally met Andrew Garten, he was nice and mostly just filled medications while pushing me to get nerve injections, which he seemed to be knowledgeable in. Worst move ever! The pain immediately after the injection was awful! Suddenly they had no records of things, stopped returning my phone calls and then after two months of 24/7 pain and three in person visits they didn't even know where the pain was located on my body. But finally they managed to suggest I should have gone to the ER? Despite not knowing what procedure I should have done, also they never suggested surgery during my office visits! If you're in pain you don't have the time to waste with ridiculousness...this office is clueless, careless and reckless.

Dr. Andrew Garten is so amazing, he is patient and understanding, he went above and beyond to help my mother-in-law with her back pain. He is knowledgeable and experienced, he is able to connect with his patients on personal level. Definitely would recommend him!!!

Northwest spine and pain has been the best experience I have ever had with any medical treatment. Dealing with pain is hard enough and having a doctor on my side and advocating for me has been incredibly amazing. My treatment is no longer a source of stress I have been given the tools to succeed and I’m incredibly grateful. Andrew G is excellent at listening and making a plan together and has changed my view of doctors. Lynette is an incredible pain PsyD that has been instrumental in getting me equipped with the tools to manage my pain and live life to the fullest. Thank you Northwest Spine and Pain!

Yes, even if your insurance does not require a referral this clinic does require a referral from another provider before they will see you, either another that treats you for pain or your primary care.
