Ross came within 1 hour of being called, took pictures, samples, gave a bid and started the remediation process and started communication with my insurance company on the same visit. I had contacted another remediation company prior and his bid was much more competitive. He was quick and concise with all communication. I came home to a clean demo with clean cut lines in my floor and drywall. I was expecting to come home to a huge mess to clean up and this was not the case. I hope to never need this service again, but if I did, I would be a return customer. Would recommend to any friend!

Freaky fast. We discovered flooding in our basement. Called ServePro at 8am. Ross and his team were on site and remediating by 8:30am. ServePro came recommended by our insurance provider and I'm glad we went with them. They remediate to a very high standard and their customer service and attention to detail were excellent. I also appreciated how Ross helped us explore our options and make an informed decision about how to proceed.

My hot water tank flooded my basement the night before a planned vacation. I called ServPro in a panic. They were very quick to respond in the late evening hours. Jessica made me feel very secure that they would get everything taken care of and not to worry about anything while I was on vacation. Upon returning home Jessica came to my house daily until all of the equipment was removed. She always called before coming over and was always on time. Plus... Jessica was very sweet and kind to my dog, Charles Barkley.

These guys... Rob... his crew he had, you guys get an A+. They were super responsive and walked me through start to finish of cleaning up the flood that I had. Their turn around time was quick and the job that was done was very efficient and quality! Rob was so helpful in this stressful time, it's hard to find service like this anymore. I HIGHLY recommend this company for cleanup after a disaster. You are in really great hands!!

Can I Use Bleach to Kill Mold?

SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022
SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022

Bleach is an effective cleaner for hard surfaces. When mold grows on any porous material like wood or drywall, it spreads deep down into the material to reach more nutrients. This means that when you apply bleach to such a surface, you are essentially just changing the mold's color on the surface. Bleach only works well on the surface of materials and will not penetrate deeper to the roots of mold, so after a few days or weeks, it regains its color and will grow back. Bleach is also made up of about 90 percent water. Since mold loves moisture, spraying bleach can cause further mold growth, especially on porous surfaces. This is why it must be safely remediated.

What Should I Do if I Find a Water Leak in My Home?

SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022
SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022

When you find a water leak in your home, it is best to turn off the water supply in most cases. This can be done by turning off the main supply valve or shutting off the supply to the individual pipe to stop the leak. If the leak is significant, it may be good to turn off the electricity in that area as a safety precaution. If possible, absorb as much water as you can with towels move any personal items from the affected areas.

How Long Will It Take to Dry My House When There Is Water Damage?

SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022
SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022

The water removal process for your property will depend on the severity of the damage. If you have heavy damage, severe structural problems will need to be addressed before any water removal occurs. The professionals who come to help you will assess the situation and advise you on what needs to be done. Each home is different, but a typical dryout can range from three to seven days, give or take, depending on the severity and materials being dried. The sooner you take action by getting it mitigated, the less chance of extensive damage and the faster it will dry.

What Should I Do if I Suspect a Water Leak?

SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022

Leaks usually happen for a reason; there will always be signs like a dripping faucet or an unusually high energy bill. The faster you identify and discover the leak, the more quickly it can be fixed. Leaks can easily turn into more extensive and costly problems if they're not detected early on. In case of a break in the pipe, you should call your insurance company and let them know about it. Have a professional plumber come out and assess the situation, as well as a water mitigation company.

What Are Some Common Signs of Water Damage?

SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022
SERVPRO of Northeast Spokane | Jan 25, 2022

When you are looking for signs of water damage in your house, look out for these indicators: * Excess water is often observed in the form of damp spots on ceilings, walls, carpets, and other places. This can happen if there is a corroded pipe or leaky appliance, like a refrigerator or dishwasher, that has resulted in seepage. It might also occur if the ground outside is too wet and water gets inside through the foundation or a roof leak. * A musty smell in the air can indicate mold growing somewhere in your home. This mold can quickly get into other parts of your home if it's already there. This could lead to respiratory illnesses, typical for someone sensitive or allergic to spores. * Watermarks on furniture and flooring, warped floorboards, and discolored walls are signs of water damage.

I left something cooking on the stove and forgot about it and now my kitchen smells awful. If I leave my windows open and keep a fan running will the smoke smell go away?

Caleb Northrop | Oct 27, 2021

Most likely, it will not just go away on its own. Depending on what burned (food type, if anything else caught fire, etc.), there is a good chance that microscopic soot particles are involved in addition to the odor you are smelling. The soot residue from the fire needs to be properly cleaned for the odor to be removed. The chemical byproducts from a fire can be dangerous for you to breathe, touch, and ingest. We go through an industry-standard cleaning process using SERVPRO Certified products with highly trained certified technicians who know how to eliminate the source of the odor from your fire. Give our office a call at 509-474-9144, and we can schedule a time that works best for you to see how we can help.
