Over the weekend I received two emails: 1. That a Square debit card was sent to an old address and 2. An email to activate the card. When I logged into my account, I had to verify with my phone number, but it wasn't mine. It obviously belongs to someone else. I have no idea if my account was hacked. I tried calling over the weekend with no success. I called this morning (Monday) and spoke to a customer service rep that had to transfer me to another department. I explained what was going on and placed me on she looked into my account. When she came back on the line she said that she couldn't talk to me anymore and had to disconnect the call!?!?! I don't understand. Apparently they could only communicate with my via email!?!?! I don't understand why a company would disconnect the call and only want to communicate via email!!! I need to know if my account was hacked and get it resolved!!! THIS IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!

Who would of thought using that this company would cause you to not receive your funds for over 120 days? My first transaction, and will be my last with them, was 1400.00, days after doing this transaction i checked my account and they wanted further information from me to release my funds. First they wanted an invoice to see how i do buisness. After multiple times of sending it, their system was showing that they still wanted an invoice from me. I decided to call, and over the phone i submitted it again. Checked back in to my account in a few days to see if it went thru and it had not. 4 weeks into this ordeal, i called them again to complain. Next thing i know, i get an email from them saying my account has been deactivated and my funds will be on hold for 90 days. This is quite frustrating knowing i have to pay my supplier within 30 days. In fine print they claim that they able to hold your money. Do not use this company is all i can say now.

Not sure what they get for deactivating legitimate merchant accounts, but someone over there is trigger happy. Just like everyone has said, save yourself the headache of starting a merchant account with them. Their bait and switch schemes are well known. They allow a few transactions to go through and suddenly you are flagged and they hold your money hostage for 6+ months. They operate just like a bank making money off that interest. It has nothing to do with fraud or anyone violating anything. Just a shady BANK masking as a tech company.

I started with Square in 2010 - during its start up phase. My advice to new small businesses after 12 solid years is to AVOID SQUARE - now known as Block. After more than a decade of watching this company develop into their current extensive system and trying out their constant new product offerings - the overall care towards small business needs have gone downhill / nonexistent, and beware that their incompetent overseas customer service now causes you more problems than it creates. In the last 2 years, their staff have become unreliable, and I'm left fixing my own problems in their large tech system. I will be transitioning to a new provider as the marketplace now has dozens of well-developed competitors for small business needs. This was not the case back in 2010 as Square had "early mover advantage." The small-business market has changed in the last decade.

I'm trying to get a refund from cash app as well. The funds disappeared before I could accept it and now cash app does not want to take responsibility for stealing money. I have all the records on cash app and in my bank account that proves the money was never accepted and the transaction was not canceled. Someone needs to get this handled immediately. Until it does I WILL NOT be using cash app which I did every week many times. So they will be losing out. And I will be telling everyone I exchange money with not to use them

I would go to your bank. Ive been hacked before, getting charges from grub hub and uber eats. My bank took care of it, of course depends what kinda of insurance yor bank provides and that you have for your money.
Do you use the Cash app? It could've been from that. Or otherwise anyone can use Square to accept credit card payments. Do you have a business or anything?
I'm struggling to talk to a live person and its impossible. This place is quick to take your money but unwilling to grant customer service. I'm dissatisfied and frustrated.

Jump through hoops and then probably still no live person. That's my experience.....and they are holding my money. It should be illegal for them to hold money and not have a live person to talk to!
