Let me start by saying I am giving a 1 star because the receptionist ladies are very nice. HOWEVER, we had to take our cat in for emergency surgery. She ended up getting a pump to drain the fluids in her abdomen. However, she ended up only excreting 10CC of fluid which is not a lot at all! Which makes me think the pump was an unnecessary measure for money. To top that she got it out three days later. The vet never gave her any pain medication. They gave her a rabies shot again which she had already had and we informed them of. Which again was money unnecessary to spend. When I contacted the office twice they informed me the manager was not in the office and provided me her email. I contacted the manager immediately after speaking to them expressing my concerns and anger and I NEVER got an email or phone call back. They also upped the cost of the procedure without our consent or knowledge until we picked our cat up. Yes, we would have saved her, but just being informed would have been nice. We also got a call stating that she was ready to come home. We live an hour away and still sat there for 45 minutes waiting after they said she was ready for transport.

The vet and assistants were incredible when I brought my cat on who needed life saving surgery to clear a urinary obstruction. I'm so grateful for the vet and assistants for helping me find the treatment elsewhere that was quoted at a price I could financially manage. They helped keep my sweet boy as comfortable as possible and I will forever be grateful that I didn't need to make the decision to let my baby go today. They have an amazing staff here that genuinely care about the animals that come into their care.

Please, if you love your pets as much as me and my family do, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! EVER!!! In my situation, my families dog had a deadly disease that needed immediate attention, unbeknownst to us. We took him, and the vet said they had no idea what it was, but could charge thousands to do some tests and "try" to figure it out. Or said we could take him home and care for him ourself, because it wasn't know how serious the situation was. Well, come the next morning when the situation was just as bad, we took him to another vet and they IMMEDIATELY knew what it was. Not only that, they said the other vet also should've known right away. By the time we found out what was wrong with our pup, it was too late and he had to be put down. Had the original vet been even slightly competent, our boy would be alive. Please, never ever ever take any animal here. Also, they only care about money and will ask for thousands straight up before even considering looking at your animal. I understand it's an emergency vet, but that also means the animals life is in severe danger and needs immediate care. The majority of workers were rude, unhelpful and the last thing you'd expect when a beloved family member is struggling. It feels like borderline malpractice. If anyone needs an immediate place to take their animals, please make the trip to lancaster. They are more than happy to help and it's well worth the drive. This is possibly the worst vet on earth, and I truly hope they don't last much longer because who knows how many other animals would still be alive without them.

We brought our two young cats to BluePearl under a scary situation – we'd just moved to the area and both cats became ill before we'd had time to get them set up with a primary vet. We called multiple nights in a row around 4 AM very worried, and each receptionist we spoke to was extremely kind and knowledgeable. Our cats were seen by Dr. Noble, who is wonderful! She provided me with thorough info over the phone, explaining anything I didn't understand; it's clear that she truly loves animals. I expected the visits to be expensive as it's an emergency vet, but was pleased that everyone took the time to explain each procedure the vet wanted to do BEFORE doing it, so we understood what we'd be paying for. There were no hidden or unexpected costs. I hope we never have to rush our pets to BluePearl again, but in the event that we do, I'm so thankful to know the hospital is staffed by such caring and professional individuals.

I have a male Ragdoll cat, estimated age 15-16 years old, who has been vomiting occasionally pink liquid and last evening had a bowl movement with small amounts of red in it. He is very lethargic and not eating or drinking.

I have a feral male cat that lives in my yard and is about 2 yrs old. He started limping 2 wks ago, then seemed fine, now limping again. I think something is stuck in his paw. If I can catch him in a cage, can you neuter him and fix his paw?

OMG..this place is always wonderful They saw my Granddog for a sick visit as a walk in when she was over 1 hour away from her usual vet and then faxed the records to them. I was so pleased that I made another appointment for her to get her tooth pulled.

Our dog started yelping this afternoon and when we pick her up it gets worse. Pressed gently over her whole body and got no response. I think she swallowed part of a nylabone and its obstructing something. Any suggestions.

Sounds like she needs to see a vet, either at berks (they are open 24/7) or at a day practice.
