My first time visiting the Gilman. Admission was $10 plus a two dollar once a year membership fee. I was invited by a friend who is into Punk rock music. The venue was small and not very well maintained. There is one unisex restroom that was in need of cleaning and maintenance. There were 2 small couches and metal folding chairs if you wanted to sit. Most people stood. The show lasted three hours with three bands. A small crowd of about two dozen people. Personally I'll pass on the next invitation, but if your into unknown punk bands and loud "music" this is for you!

I have been going to Gilman for a little over a decade, countless memories have been made (and some forgotten) here. It truly is one of my favorite venues in The Bay Area. So many amazing bands have preformed within these walls over the years and I am grateful NorCal has a venue that gives The Bay Area so many opportunities to see some killer punk and metal shows. That being said, I can't wait for the doors of 924 Gilman to reopen so I can once again start supporting local music and the venue that makes it all possible (once it's safe enough to do so that is). BIG thanks to 924 Gilman providing the Bay Area with good times and good tunes all these years!

Gillman used to be my hang out in the later1980s and 90s I still stop by once in awhile

To say I love The Gilman is an understatement. I get giddy on the way. There's just something about it. Volunteer operated, a place for young/new bands to get stage time. Great shows(haven't seen a bad one yet.) I could go on and on. I'm gonna end this quickly as not to ramble. If you are into the types of music that play here, go. Go! To the next show. Show up an hour, or earlier, help out. I wish I lived next door.

Yes, it is $2 for a membership card and it is good for one year. Also, you can show up early and volunteer to work for half the show and get in free. 924 Gilman is an all ages collective space that has membership meetings on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Be a part of the community. This is your club.
There is a cover charge, it does vary plus a $2 membership fee. Billy Joe rarely if ever shows up, they do not allow major label signed bands play Edited for more info: his son's band plays sometimes there, but I've never seen Billy himself Edited again: the cover is usually no more than $10/15
No Green Day was not the first band to play there. They, along with other well-known Bay Area bands such as Operation Ivy and Rancid play there a lot in the 90s.
What are you talking about? Does it translate to, "What do you things about Green Day?", if so, then are you asking about the history of Green Day? If so, then Wikipedia is a good source.
