I called the chico store to find out if they had a certain ammo I was looking for, I told the person who answered the phone I was looking for a certain ammo and mid sentence he cuts me off and tells me all transfer you to our ammo department, I sat on the phone for 4 minutes on hold just to see how long they would keep me and when the manager answered I asked him if it was common practice to keep people on hold for 4 minutes and he said if we are busy we we won't pick up the phone which to me is ridiculous you should at least inform somebody you are busy and will be with me momentarily, and the manager did not seem to give two craps about what I was saying so here it is, I'll never go to another Big five sporting goods store again and will do nothing but try to deter friends family and strangers from a horrible experience as well way to run your store Big 5

Great spot. Lots of selection. Good shoe sales. I really like these stores. They usually have a decent selection of the things you would need to sports or recreational stuff in the area you are in. For example, if there are disc golf courses in the area they have disc golf equipment or lots of hiking, they have lots of hiking equipment.

Stood there waiting at ammo counter for help in a practically empty store for 10mins until I went to front register and asked for assistance. The guy in the department had previously walked by and ignored me and then acted like I was bothering him. I WONT BE BACK. Merchandise is overpriced anyway.

I have been a loyal big 5 customer for years. I love being able to run in and just grab my standard running shoe, same basic shoe very time, just maybe this year's version, at a great price... that being said, I just left there and that was not my experience. None of my brand were out, the wall of shoes were 1/4 empty, and there was a jumble of clearance shoes over to the side. After multiple try ons and endless hunting in the clearance section, I settled on a couple of pairs, relatively satisfied, ya know, change happens... then I got curious as to why this one pair, the only pair of it's kind was "great clearance" at such a high price. I peeled of the sticker to see that its original price was $5 lower than its "terrific" sale price. Needless to say, I was tremendously disappointed at their marketing practices and grabbed their corporate number. Booo!!! Shame on you big 5. I will not be taking my business there any more. So sad, I guess I just forget sometimes about the shiesty practices of corporate american businesses😞
