Excellent place to relax and enjoy nature. Not too busy, even for a Saturday with nice weather. To launch a canoe, you need to sign in at the marina building and pay the launch fee of $4. Note: There were signs that the marina (and boat ramp) will close on August 2 to complete the second phase of renovations. It says on their website that you can still launch a canoe/kayak during the construction, but you must launch from the bank of the river instead.

The newly redone marina is a massive upgrade to the old building and parking lot. Now there is a first class event hall with a wrap around porch overlooking the lake, a massive paved parking lot, and new offices for the park. We had our daughter's wedding reception there and couldn't have been more pleased. Additionally a new playground bathroom and well maintained trails make this a gem in Winston-Salem's park system.

There needs to be more places to fish besides the pier but other then that it’s a great place to visit that we saw we were just there for fishing but I liked what I saw minus there weren’t many places to fish from the shore

Yes it is
Yes. It has a pier that is handicapped accessable. It has ramps to get you in the building for bait or snacks and parking right in front of the marina.
Motors under 60 hp can used on the lake. Boats with motors larger than 60 hp can only run trolling motors. No inflatables water crafts or jet skis. Sail boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards are welcome.

I bought bass minnows there about a month ago
$3.50 adult, $2 for teens, $1 for seniors, free for 11 yrs and under. Must have a state license to fish, right now it's peer fishing only, no bank fishing.
They have night crawlers worms I am not sure if they carry minnows, I love the Salem lake but me and my friends don't fish their, we just bike ride the trail and jogging and excessive our eyes by looking at the pretty women. The Salem lake doesn't allow side lining fishing, and it needs to be restock, pea e to you all.

It doesn't seem as it has been restocked any time close, we spent the day and did not fish anything, but other people with smaller fishing gear were catching trout, small ones.
