Very professional and knowledgeable. The guy was helping myself and two others at the same time and we were all well provided for. I look forward to making this the cycling shop of my future.

Been buying from Woody for almost ten years now. John (Woody), the owner is the man, a true cycling enthusiast, and is by far the best in the area. Love spending my time here and love supporting them. I was professionally fitted by him and bought my first brand new road bike and expressed exactly what my riding intentions and style was back in 2013. He worked with me to get the exact bike for my budget, my riding style, and skill level. Still ride that bike (Jamis Ventura) daily 7 years later. I also enjoy doing the work myself but sometimes not really sure what part to order, so Woody listens, orders the stuff for me, and has it ready for the exact price if not better than all competitors including amazon.

I have a vintage bike that I am using as my daily ride and I had concerns about the fit. 'Called up and got an appointment right away. Went down to the shop and was treated very well with very good humor by guys that know their stuff. I'm skeptical of "expert" advice in all manner of things. I'm fortunate to be pretty well educated when it comes to physics and mechanics which leads to this skepticism. Much to my surprise, everything Woody said made sense both intuitively and objectively. He spent time during the fitting, listened to my concerns, and made suggestions. I needed shoes and pedals and more. He decidedly did not try to sell me the expensive stuff. Instead, we talked about pros and cons and he let me decide. He could have pushed me to get a new bike. He did not. Instead he talked about what could be done with my old bike to get the most out of it. I am already planning on having his shop do more work for me.

An update to Woody's response: What I requested is not odd. Woody's is a specialized dealer, Specialized expects them to honor warranty issues with their products, regardless of whether they stock them or not. The truth of that is clear from my direct conversation with a Specialized rep. I never requested that Woody's replace the boots at their expense or that they instantly hand me a replacement, I simply asked that they process a warranty claim on a brand they represent, on a product whose defect made it physically painful to use, and which I had only worn once. They refused. My distillation of the interaction is accurate and a direct quote. Yes, more was said, but the gist didn't change, as is evident from the response below. They were unwilling to call the specialized rep and process the claim, something two other dealers and Specialized have now told me is normal, expected dealer activity, regardless of where the item was purchased. Woody asks in his response if I, personally, sometimes work for free. In the interest of customer care, brand recognition and to earn future business? Yes, of course, it's good business! My original Review: Owner refused to process a specialized warranty issue for a pair of winter boots purchased out of state because, "It doesn't work that way and I don't get paid to pack them up". Called the Specialized rep when I got home who said that's exactly the way it's supposed to work, you can take any warranty item to any Specialized dealer. They're sending me to North Shore Cycles in Lynn.

Thanks for the offer, but your best bet would be putting it on Craigslist. Good luck and Happy summer.

I acquired a Monark Silver King. Red 5 tube (not hex). Needs work Just wondering where in Mass. I can have someone take a look at it. I'm considering selling as or possibly fixing it up. Any advice? How do i send a picture to you?

Hi Doug, I would suggest calling me directly regarding your request. We do not specialize in Balloon Era bikes, but can help with sourcing most parts and restoration - or if it is a big project direct you to some friends that do specialize in Balloon Bikes! BTW, very cool bike - I have owned a couple. :-) Cheers, Woody
