I work for the school down the road and we do silent reading a few times a week. We often take out a lot of books at a time and the staff are really helpful and kind. It really helps to have a place like this because kids are actually picking up and reading books, requesting things they're interested in, and excited to see the new books I pick up every week. Very grateful!

Hello, Since the library no longer has a Friends of the Library group to manage book sales, we can only accept limited donations of newer materials. Please call or visit the library to check if we can receive your book and dvd donations. If we aren't able to accept them, we can recommend some other places. Thank you for thinking of us! The library's hours are Tues & Wed 11am - 7pm, Thurs & Fri 9am - 5 pm, and Sat 9am - 5pm (9am - 1pm on Saturdays in June, July, and August).

A library card is free for residents (renters or property owners) of Somersworth, for employees of the City of Somersworth and for business owners in the City. Out-of-town residents may purchase a Somersworth library card for $50/year or $25/half year.
Fine Free Friday is the first Friday of every month.
