Well it’s been many years that I’ve known Ron, and I really wanted to have a positive relationship with him. Over the years I brought in several Sansui receivers for him to repair. In the beginning he was very good and reasonably priced. Then for some reason, about a year before he was set to close the shop (so I was told) his attitude towards repairing my vintage gear changed to, don’t bother me with it. The final straw for me was when I brought in a Yamaha CA-1010 for repair and it sat in his shop for about 6 months. After a couple calls he finally told me to come get it, it can’t be repaired, it’s all burnt up inside. Well, I know when I’m being blown off so I found another Tech all the way down in Brooklyn who fixed it in 2 weeks and it works great. I really feel hurt by his attitude towards me, and I’m not sure where it’s coming from, maybe after all these years his desire to retire, and returning customers don’t matter as much anymore. Thanks for the mixed messages Ron.

Ron does excellent work with vintage stereo equipment. My preamplifier was restored to like new condition and extremely quickly. Ron also has components for sale in the shop. Definitely worth a look if you're interested in building a hi-fi system. All of his equipment and repairs comes with a warranty.

Having had several opportunities to do business with Ron I have always been more than satisfied with the professional service and repair. This area is fortunate to have such a knowledgeable vintage stereo repair service technician! Thanks again as always for your great work.John

I have been going to stereo workshop on and off for years. They are very honest and tell you when/if the item can be fixed and if it will be expensive or not. Being a "vintage" person who still loves her vinyl, I have a vintage 1959 RCA console stereo that I love. It needed work. Stereo workshop does not work on the old consoles but refers the work to Paul Brunina. Paul came to my home this Labor day week end and worked for 3 hours on my old stereo. The poor speakers had seen better days-the next day (still holiday weekend) he returned with two new speakers that fit into my unit. He cleaned/rewired/and adjusted the unit and it sounds beautiful. It wasn't cheap-but for the work he did, the hours he spent on my beloved stereo it was worth every dime to me. It sounds beautiful. If you want to keep your "vintage toys", these are the guys to go to. Keep in mind, there are not too many guys out there that still work on these old stereos/radios and the parts are getting harder and harder to find, not to mention the expertise and hours needed to repair them-it isn't cheap. If you don't want to spend the money-buy the "throw away toys" of today's market-wanna bet they won't be around in 57 years, the age of my stereo

Hi Kathleen, Yes it is a specific part. I need to see the needle or cartridge .I may have it in stock Send me a couple of Pix
I do work on Headphones. The problem is that not all of them can be repaired. Some newer ones can't be Soldered. The wires won't hold solder.
No Website any longer. I took it down 10 years ago. I'm not looking for more work. I do have a facebook page.
It depends on parts availability .
I'm pretty sure he can if this guy can't fix it can't be fixed it's done lived it's time
