Details of the recycling process make a lot of sense, and are clearly posted. Employees are very helpful. Town of Hollis residents only, of course. Closed on Thanksgiving, by tradition.

This is the community gathering place to drop off your unwanted stuff. Be it trash, recycling, or still good enough to share. You might even learn where the recycling goes and gets converted into, how much the town saves on reclaimed metal, or support the local eagle/cub/girl scout on their journey through their ranks. Veterans are there during the holidays too. More people stop here and run into friends they haven't seen in a while. A quick trip can last less than 5 minutes, but might last an hour if you get to talking.

No, you don't need to get a new one each year. Just once for the car, though technically no one checks. I have one for one of my cars but no one asks when I take my other car.
I've never heard of the transfer station being open on a Wednesday and I've lived in hollis for 29 years. The stump dump is open on Wednesdays. Tuesday is the day they're open early during the week. See the town web site for hours. Something that a lot of people don't know is the gate to the still good table is sometimes left open on Monday afternoons.
I put in kitty litter into my paint cans and waited a few days until the liquids hardened up.
