Beautiful place to go .. very nice state park with great waterfalls. You can walk all around the waterfalls on trail around the falls. You can also bring your dog and have a picnic.. nice day trip for all...

A hidden gem! Chittenango is a little way off the beaten path, but is worth your time! The falls are MUCH bigger than they appear on a brochure or the post cards that gave us the idea to stop by. Hundreds of little stair-steps make the 167-foot waterfall as if you're watching hundreds of little falls cascading down. The quick hike around was enjoyable, with only a short stretch of steep terrain. If you're anywhere near the area, it's definitely worth driving an hour or so out of your way to see it - especially if you enjoy waterfalls or a picnic in a relaxing meadow.

After parking you can walk down a paved trail to a beautiful overlook of the falls. This short, paved, walk makes it accessible for all ages and disability's. The overlook is fenced off for safety to allow optimal viewing of the drop-off into the gorge as it's surrounded by beautiful landscape (especially in the Fall). There is also a pavilion and playground for families to settle in and enjoy their time visiting.

Always a wonderful place to visit. Water was really flowing over the falls. Light snow morning of our trip, made the climb down to the bridge little tricky. The trails are well maintained. Went on a freezing cold day so hardly anyone there.

It's free, you just have to pay to park the car, I think I remember it was 3 dollars.
There is access to the water but posted for no swimming
The falls are closed off. You can only see the top behind a chain link fence.
