This started from a door to door solicitation, just to be sure that I disclose that. Was in my driveway cutting up boxes and saw the young men going around. I asked them for information as new windows had been on my mind for many years. I scheduled an appointment to get more information. No pressure to buy and ok with my wanting to "sleep on it". I called back when I was ready. Next was appointment to do measurements then a date for install. I had to reschedule due to a family emergency. They were very understanding. The big day came. Very professional and courteous installation team. Then seal of approval from county building inspector. Just had a big rain this past weekend, no leaks. Very happy with my purchase.

The installers were very professional and the windows' were high quality. The company exceeded my expectations. Very nice high quality windows. On time for appointments. Priced well and high quality impact windows that make the home look nice. Pleasant representation on appointments. No Cost or obligation. Free quote. Don't try to push you into buying. But you'll end up buying with the professionalism and great customer service. Beats having old single pane non-impact windows that may not stand up to a tropical and definitely not a hurricane. Highly recommend. Value to the home and ultimate protection for the family.

Can I install new windows myself?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Unless you are experienced in the field, we really wouldn’t recommend it. Hurricane windows must be installed square and level, not always an easy feat. In addition, a proper water barrier must be installed or considerable damage, not just to windows but to the home, could be the unfortunate result. In addition, improper installation would null and void your Reece Builders lifetime warranty. Besides, no need to consider the manual labor. Our skilled team is at the ready to see you through installation from start to finish.

How are your windows installed?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Our highly trained installers will arrive on site ready to roll; you can be certain of a job well done upon completion. Installation methods will have been discussed beforehand, of course, but for optimal performance, we like to recommend a full frame replacement. In other words, the entire area in which the impact window is inserted would be replaced. An insert replacement option is also available, but would depend on the amount of damaged area there is around the old window.

How long will it take to finish the job?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

We know you are busy and our goal going in is to quickly and efficiently complete your hurricane window installation in as little time as possible. Understandably, there are determining factors as to how long the job will take. Such as, the type of installation and style of windows chosen along with the number of windows you are replacing. We will be glad to help you plan in advance and can estimate the time needed for your new window replacements to be installed.

How much will my new window replacements cost?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

We have many options to choose from. And, again, the number, style and size of windows you are replacing will have bearing on the final cost. All our hurricane windows are made with quality materials and backed by our Reece Builders lifetime guarantee. And, we’d like to take a moment to mention the money saved in lower utility costs. Will someone from my household have to be present during the installation?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Yes. An adult will need to be at home for the window installation to answer any questions your installers may have pertaining to installation.. Also, our installers will need to have inside access to your home to assure that everything is installed to our high quality standards. No worries about a mess though. Our team leaves your home as clean as they found it.

How will the area surrounding my new window be affected?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Our installation teams will do their best to install your new replacement windows with the greatest of care. Are the windows installed from the inside or outside?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

What kind of preparations do I need to make for installation day?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Please remove any window treatments and security sensors from the window. Also, please, move any furniture to make a clear path to the work area. It’s also a good idea to take down any wall decorations near the work area as vibrations due to removal and installation could cause them to fall. This will help to make the installation process for your new impact windows smooth.

Will the window installation process create a mess in my home?

Gilad Livingstone, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, AAWE | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

No. Our installation crews are practiced in the art of their trade. No mess, no fuss. They will leave your home as they found it and you'll be left with beautiful replacement hurricane windows.

Why does condensation form on windows?

Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Condensation is caused by indoor humidity, it collects on surfaces within your home when warm air containing moisture meet a cool surface. It occurs naturally through everyday living—showers, laundry, cooking, and even breathing release moisture into the air. Your windows are usually the first place you notice it though. It could be that your windows aren't as energy efficient as they once were and are allowing moisture to enter your home. Running a dehumidifier reduces the moisture in the air. Moisture problems left unchecked can lead to mold and mildew issues.

Are vinyl frames your only option?

Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Yes, they are. Vinyl frames are attractive and require little maintenance. In fact, all you need to do is wash them periodically! They're energy efficient and provide added protection from moisture because they seal tightly against your home's exterior. If you have any other questions, give us a call! (727) 522-3035

Everyone "outsources" these days. How do you choose the installers that you hire to send to my home?

Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

We train our installers in-house rather than hiring outside contractors to do the job. That way we're certain that your installation is completed meeting our high standards. In fact, we include our workmanship in your double lifetime guarantee.

If we're thinking about getting hurricane windows, is this the best time of year to do it?

Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Thanks for the input, David! We'd like to expound on that answer just a bit though. We work with our customers to schedule their window installation at their convenience. However, the closer we get to "the season," business tends to pick up and the wait does increase a bit. Our warm winter temps make it the perfect time to consider installing your new windows. You'll beat the rush. ;)

Do your windows really block noise? I really like my neighbors, but they have this dog...

Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020
Reece Windows & Doors | Aug 23, 2020

Yes! Our windows do an excellent job of reducing or even completely eliminating the outside noise that you're exposed too. That's because the high tech polymer inserted between the panes of glass acts as an insulator. Not only will they reduce the noise level, they improve your home's energy efficiency as well!
