Great camping spot. Clean bathrooms. Private sites. Beautiful river. But INSANE AMOUNTS OF TICKS. Everyone at my site left with multiple ticks attached to them and while camping constantly brushing them off!!!!!

Although the campground is beautiful and very natural, there is a major infestation of ticks. Almost everyone in my group found numerous ticks on themselves. Despite wearing proper clothing and spraying incessantly, these tiny ticks managed to get all over us, even those of us sleeping in RVs. I don’t know if it is the time of year/season (April 2022), but the camp website should post a warning for campers so you can take extra precautions or avoid the park altogether. I’m surprised there aren’t other reviews complaining about the tick problem. I’m an experienced camper and have never dealt with this issue in any other similar campgrounds.

Let me just say, I have mixed feeling about this place. We recently camped here for 2 nights. So the area itself is great! We hiked about 11 miles on the Iron Bridge trail and it was gorgeous. Heads up, the iron bridge is actually not a bridge. Just iron posts which I'm assuming is what was left of the bridge lol. We also kayaked which was awesome! Now to the campground. Surprisingly most sites were spacious and had privacy. Where it fell short was the camp host. I thought their job was to enforce the rules? The first night we had drunk teenagers being loud all night. Second night we had another group across from us yelling and partying past midnight. Not to mention their generator ran the entire night. Someone literally had a chainsaw going and was cutting wood at their campsite. Nothing was being enforced. Sucks when all you want is to escape a little and enjoy nature. On top of that, the bathrooms were pretty gross. So pretty much the camp host were useless. The forest was gorgeous though.

First, let me tell you why one star is missing. All the benches are falling apart. The bathrooms look like their barely cleaned and nothing has been replaced in decades. Idk why they took the benches out of the showers that used to be there. BUT....THERE ARE FOUR STARS THERE. The campsites are good size with some that are more private and some more public. There are grills and water spouts. The campsites are clean. Nice fishing area. A whole lot of trails. The wildlife is amazing. Make sure you reserve a spot, there are no first come spots anymore.

It's 15$ according to the picture posted on the site
Yes but but they have a quiet time at night till morning
I saw several RV campers. When we were there most people were respectful but others left their loud generators and bright lights on all night. Wasn't going to this camp site for that type of experience so it was a bummer. Please stay respectful!
