Beautiful, large and clean library with easy access off of US41 in North Port. This library has the largest children’s section I’ve seen in comparison to other libraries in the area. The librarian is knowledgeable and helpful. They’ve always been patient with the kids I’ve brought in. Be cautious and aware, always lock your care doors as this area is not the safest and there are often homeless folks sitting outside of the library.

When I walked into the library, it felt like home to me. I used to come here every day as a kid, though now I feel slightly nervous. It's not exactly as I remembered it, but the general feel was the same and I do miss coming here. The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable was being stared at by another patron and being followed around throughout the space, even to the children's section. I'm not saying this is any fault of the librarians, though I hope they are able to be observant enough to make sure every patron is safe and comfortable. If there are any further issues, I will allow someone to know about it, but it makes me worried if something unsuspecting were to happen due to negligence to obvious motives of other people.

A few things have changed becuase of covid. I came with some kids and there were not toys and many computers were down. Other than that, everything was clean and in order. Very friendly and helpful staff with getting a new card! Coming back soon.

The North Port Library is part of the Sarasota County Library system. To see and apply for open positions go to www.scgov.net/government/human-resources/career-opportunities Or go to scgov.net and search for careers. There are currently positions available.

Some days they have security outside of the library, i been taking my kids here i have had no trouble with any of them, they don't bother people who visit the library

Our other NP location is on the campus of the technical college on Cranberry near Toledo Blade intersection. In the Friend's of the Library bookstore they sell gently used books

For kids yes not sure about adult ones.
I believe there is some type of reciprocal agreement between the two libraries however you would have to speak to someone at the library for more details on how it works.

Yes Monday at 10:30 it is childrens storytime. They read a story sing songs dance and do a craft.
