Experienced the Ice Maze at the Alaska state fair grounds today and it was tons of fun! It was impressive the amount of work it took to create this! We really enjoyed the lights and the music in the ice. This is a great family activity and worth going to for sure. It’s unfortunately expensive for big families, Adults 13$ and kids 10$ and you get through it quick but it’s definitely worth doing!

First, let me start by saying I am not a Fair loving girl. Yep, I admitted it. But I must say, I totally had a great time at this fair. Would I go there again.... I have to say I probably would. Clean, beautiful fair grounds. Surprisingly, really good food. Yes. They had the standard fried fair food, but we found the spinach bread truck which was outstanding and hubby found a gourmet Reubens sandwich stand which he said was amazing. We hit the Billy Idol concert which was super fun, and the seller stands had some awesome artists. Great day at the fair!

You will end up spending a lot of money here, however, great place to support local vendors. I was a bit worried for them with how crowded it got this year and barely anyone wearing face protection during the pandemic. Huge shout out to families and people who still put themselves at risk to help support themselves and their families. Food is always delicious there. Parking is a bit of a hassle, BUT buy your tickets online and show the staff your passes on your phone. Saves you a lot of time and waiting. Will continue to go to the fair. Wish there were more gluten free meal options

I'm impressed with the amount of people there. I had a blast with plenty of food. Lots of entertainment and the best date ever. Wrestling matches where misspelled but still awesome to watch. And a few good laughs at some of the signage.

When the state fair is here, you can rent mobility devices.
Personal vehicle- $25 or checkout alaskastatefair website
https://www.alaskastatefair.org/site/fair-info/faqs/ For me it was $5 to park per day and $15 per person. There are year passes but if you wanted to save money it's better to buy months ago and do 6 person packs.
Behind the fairgrounds. IGo past the fair on the Glen, take the 1st right and then the next right. There you will find the yellow parking. The gate will be towards the fairgrounds. It's back by the horse arena, etc.
I believe there are multiple days with similar timelines.
You bring coupon from Holiday gas station, then you buy 1 fair ticket and you get 1 free. Same with rides.
I don't know right now. Haven't been there this year yet.
Yes normally we have concert tiks had to buy fair admission also
I don't know about that
Same child labor laws pertain to the state fair as any other place of business
There should be one
tickets at the gate are 15 for adults and 10 for children 6-12 and Seniors. Some discounts are still available if purchased in advance online.
Concert go-ers typically like to hear their favorite artists at louder volumes than they can achieve in their cars or home systems. That said, venues strive to provide the best experience for their patrons and must oblige their unhealthy need for loud, raw noise. The reason you hear the bass over anything else is simple... The sound wave created by a low frequency bass note travels farther than a high frequency note. Kick drum vs. high hat. As annoying as it can be to conduct business over the ruckus, please understand that Alaska does not get many A list artists to play up here. So when a popular artists rolls into town, let em rock out a bit. Lastly, it's at a state fair... Unhealthy is the name of the game. Cheers
I'm sure they would be willing to accommodate your son. I'm willing to bet the ticket counter has that information, and if they don't they can radio someone who does
Lost items are claimed at the Security Building (#11 on the Fair Map (PDF) ). This building is located on the Green Trail, southwest of the ConocoPhillips Borealis Theatre, next to the public restroom and the ATM. Please note that the Fair keeps all lost items for one month after the Fair. After that the unclaimed items are donated to charitable organizations. The Emergency Services Building is also located on the Green Trail, southwest of the ConocoPhillips Borealis Theatre, between the ATM and the public restrooms. All of these buildings are clearly marked on the Fair Map (PDF), available on the Fair website or in the daily schedule, which may be picked up at the kiosks inside the Fair walk-in gates
FOUD A PHONE IN THE RAVEN HALL. IF LOST SEE an employee with the BEDS.
If there are, they don't advertise them very well. I didn't see any
Looks like you still have to check in at the ticket booth before you hit the gate but it's a booth specifically for pre-purchased tickets. Almost never a line there.
No, they should scan. Make sure there is a bar code
