I have only had my initial consultation but have found Dr. Caneally and team to be attentive listeners, thorough in response to questions, and generally just good people. Started my fast today...lets see where this takes us. Optimism:)

The nurses are great and professional. IV prices are high compare to other places I have been to. The reason behind the three stars is that I felt a condescending tone while speaking with their new patient director asking about a new treatment that I heard of. She was talking over me and not listening to my inquiry. I thought she wasn't professional and definitely not pleasant. The last thing I needed to deal with.

I have been going to Center For New Medicine for years and jsut love it. Dr. Brandi Morinoue takes the time to really listen and talk to you, which is unusal these days, and I always leave feeling well taken care of. They have a website if you need to contact between appointments. You will not be disappointed.

The entire team at CCFH is very warm. I am a patient of CFNM but receive IV therapy weekly at CCFH. Assad always greets me with a big smile and makes conversation while taking my vitals which makes the experience a little easier. Guillermo is a compassionate nurse who knows how to navigate my difficult veins and I really appreciate that. My health is improving since I started treatment at CFNM/CCFH and I have this awesome team to thank for it!

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 23, 2020

Yes, some must be done by a healthcare professional however, most can be done at home. Some of our patients do not feel comfortable injecting themselves and may chose to be seen in our office for an injection as ordered by the provider. Please call the front desk to schedule an appointment.

I was recommended to complete weekly/daily injections. Can I give myself the injection?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 23, 2020

Yes, the provider may order injectable medications or supplements to be given at home either subcutaneously or intramuscularly. We typically will have our staff show you all the steps to perform your specific injection at home as well as written instructions to take home with you.

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 23, 2020

We offer the recommended supplements in our healthy living store which you can visit in-person OR they can ship supplies directly to your home. We are currently in the process of linking our Healthy Living Store to our website, to simplify the ordering process. Do I need to schedule my own appointments?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 23, 2020
Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 23, 2020

Yes, typically your provider will give you a recommended follow up date at every appointment. Your specific window for follow up will depend on your health conditions being treated and the providers discretion; however, for all new patients, we recommend everyone be seen 1-2 weeks after their first visit to review labs ordered and follow up on your conditions/progress.

How do I get started with intravenous (IV) therapy? What is required?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019
Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019

All IV therapy must have an order completed by a provider in our office prior to starting treatment. Typically, most patients must establish with our office first and labs must be reviewed (including CBC and CMP) prior to starting any IV therapy. If you already have an order and are followed in our office, you must be seen yearly (at a minimum) with the appropriate labs for your designated therapy. All IV orders must be renewed yearly if the patient plans to continue on treatment. Once all of the above requirements have been met, patients may call our front desk to schedule your IV appointment. Please indicate to the staff which IV service you plan to receive.

When should I have new labs drawn?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019
Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019

For our patients at the Cancer Center for Healing, you should have lab work completed every 2-4 weeks during active treatment and then every three months if in remission. The type and timing for your labs will be determined by your provider. For patients completing chemotherapy, at a minimum, routine labs such as a complete blood count (CBC) and comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) will be ordered weekly. All labs must have an order by a provider with most regimens being personalized to your specific needs.

How do I request a refill?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019
Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019

If you have a current medication and have been seen in the office within the last year, please have your pharmacy request a refill through our electronic refill system. If you are on a controlled substance such as Adderall, Norco/Vicodin, Ativan or Valium, refills must be done with an appointment and in-person. If you are requesting a NEW medication or you have not been on the medication in over a year, you must be seen by a provider prior to starting the medication. Refills will not be provided to patients who have not been seen in more than 1 year.

Where can I find my personalized treatment plan?

When would I expect my lab results to be available for review?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019
Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019

For most routine labs that can be processed locally such as a complete blood count (CBC) or metabolic panel, those results can be completed in 2-5 business days depending on which facility the labs are drawn at. For our specialty labs, they may use proprietary device or processing method which will take longer to be completed. For our specialty cancer panel, done by Research Genetics Cancer Center (RGCC) in Greece, it typically takes 3-4 weeks to receive the results from the date you draw. In general, most specialty labs will take between 3-4 weeks for processing. All labs require a follow up consultation with your Physician, so that they can thoroughly review your results with you.

Why do I need an appointment to review my lab results?

Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019
Cancer Center For Healing | Aug 24, 2019

While most lab agencies report a "normal" or typical range for their results, these results are usually based on a median value for that lab test. Our provider will review your lab work keeping in mind all the conditions you are being seen for as well as monitoring levels that may be borderline elevated. Since we work hard on prevention of disease and early intervention, the lab result may appear in the "normal range" but will be something we wish to address. We do not like to "watch and wait", we prefer to act preemptively to keep you in optimal health.

What is the name of your oncologist?

Sherry Wesson | Aug 23, 2021
Lori AV | Aug 23, 2021

Not all Drs here are oncologists, since they address MANY health concerns through their wellness program. I see a very knowledgeable Functional Dr here by the name of Bita Badakhshan as well as a team of other Drs who work together collectively. They're all great and I've seen great results as I carefully follow their directives!!!
