This place is a gem! It was a beautiful late-summer getaway for us last August. We could even swim comfortably- just make sure your torso is covered so the water doesn't give you chills! Cool rocks, elegant dunes, and gorgeous water on a clear day. And NO FEAR OF SHARKS!!

No, you will have to go down to Warren Dunes state park. At the moment they have a dog beach. This changes from time to time, tho.

Great place to just get away quiet and beautiful
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for a fast day trip, recently. It was adorable and nice. You would have to drive and park though. But it's only a few minutes away from the beach. Generally we stay at the Harbor Grand. It suffered a fire recently and is not open yet. It is located within walking distance and is very nice. I don't know when it's opening.
