DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE. My mate and I are coming up on the end of our 3rd lease. They raised the rent $150 each time we renewed, even while the pandemic was crippling the economy. The on-campus "gym" is just a couple cardio machines. They replaced our busted laundry machines with new machines that now require Bluetooth, but are just as unreliable and constantly broken. There is no in-unit hook up. They forcefully replaced our key locks with "smart locks" that chime on engage/disengage, alerting everyone around when you come and go. From the time we moved in, our drains have been constantly clogged and the water smells of sewage, in addition to leaving white residue constantly. The leasing office no longer has personell on site to go and talk to about issues. This apartment was never worth 1700 in the first place, and DAMN sure is not worth 2k, even if it were brand new. DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE. It's highway robbery.

Hate that they forcefully changed the door’s lock. It used to be a sturdy metallic door lock and handle but they came in and changed it to a “smart” lock. It’s a hassle to set up and takes too long to unlock and lock. They said it was for extra “safety”. I just pray the day that I need to get out or in for an emergency, that it works fast.. and that it’s charged.. not to mention the potential hacking that can happen when it’s connected to the internet.. very bad decision.

I lived here for over 2 years, and as far as I'm concerned, it was a great experience. They did a wonderful job of tending to all my maintenance requests in a timely manner. They were always prompt about communicating any matters in the community. There are some things about this place that I did not particularly like, but that wasn't Villa Angelina's fault. 1) Our apartment faced Chapman Ave., which is a busy street. The noise never really stopped from loud cars that love to speed to constant sirens. 2) My car was broken into once even though the parking is gated. I also didn't feel entirely safe walking around the neighborhood at night. There are definitely some strange people around. 3) The apartment seemed to get unusually warm, and without Central A/C, it got difficult to sleep some nights because the wall unit A/C was in the living room and didn't reach the bedroom. Overall, a pleasant experience. The value for the rent you pay here is close to unmatched from nearby communities. Thank you to the staff and Essex for a great time!

My husband and I are extremely pleased with this complex. The community is wonderful and the staff is very sweet and helpful. The community is kept intact. It’s always clean and well maintained. We have been living here for an entire year now and can’t complain. love it! Thanks Jennifer and Winnie for making us feel at home and being so welcoming and kind hearted. The property management staff rocks! :)
