My wife, son and I were in town from Maryland ( home of Flying Dog and nearby Dogfish head so we do know good beer) for an aunt’s 90th birthday. There were few offerings in the small town regarding dinner or otherwise so our expectations were low. We were beyond delighted on several levels to discover Slate Town. The beers were excellent... Ryes Above and Bikini Bottom were too good to move along the menu...Susan and the staff were attentive, made us feel like family and shared their respective stories with us...all interesting! The slate hop bud... a must see! The beer was so good and no prospects for dining so we took a chance on the menu and were far from disappointed. The Pineapple Pandemonium and Figgy Piggy were delicious. Lastly, don’t underestimate the pint sized pool-table. It’s a slate top and the retro quarter slot ( my 25 year old had no clue😜) made for a charming couple of games! Love this place and lament the distance between us!

Very Good! -It seemed chilly when we first arrived but we were dressed appropriately for November in Upstate NY and we warmed up sufficiently. -Great beer selection with accurate descriptions. -Food on time. -Perfectly crispy french fries boasted a fresh taste. -Wings were meaty and well prepared with fabulous flavor options. -We ordered additional wings but they didn't show up on our bill so we had to send the check back to make the addition. -Pizza crust was as light and flavorful as we remembered. With some ranch dressing for dipping, we devoured the pizza "bones". -Paninis were a hit. Easy to eat, not too messy. We ordered one to go. -Wait staff was friendly when we had their attention. Our party of 8 would have enjoyed several more pints if they were more observant. -Overall, we give Slate Town Brewing Company a 👍.

This was a great little find heading up to Rutland, VT. The brewery is spacious and clean. The service was excellent. They had a larger selection then I expected. Just enough to cover most taste buds. Can tell that they put in great thought into the beers. You won’t be disappointed. Great quality shirts too.

Wow, what a find, amazing brewery, hip, industrial vibe, with fantastic, knowledgeable servers. Very friendly. The beer is well made with great complexity and flavor. My other half liked the Red ale, which is unheard of, as most are lacking in the quality needed to make a good red. This Brewer has got a handle on how to make good beers. They also have a modest selection of cider & wine. Very enjoyable, looking forward to the kitchen opening!

Questions & Answers

Do you only serve beer or do you have wine and soft drinks? What kind of food do you serve?

They have wine, and hard cider, I don't know if they have soft drinks. Last time I was there (June) the kitchen wasn't open as of yet, but they had a food truck out front, and they can order food to come in to Slate. If there's a beer lover in the group this is the place to go.

Are dogs allowed?

Hi Sarah, at this time we can not accommodate dogs in our space. We are working on some outdoor seating spaces so that we can have our fur babies here in the future. Thanks for asking!

Is the brewery kid friendly?

Hi Nick, I would say that we are kid friendly. We have lots of families that come and we have board games available as well as corn hole :). On Fridays and Saturdays we have a food truck available as well. Thanks and hope to see you!
