Pros: Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. Cons: Crowded, limited selections, more pricy compared chain stores.

I was a bit disappointed. Looking to purchase a relatively expensive firearm, but looking for something specific. I mentioned the manufacturer I was looking for (on their website, they say they can special order from the manufacturer). I mention the brand, the salesperson looks like a "dear in the headlights". He goes in the back (not knowing the specific model I want), and comes back out with "We can't order it". Sadly, typical "customer service" for today. Glad to find this out now, before making a purchase. Second time I've been in this shop, no real reason to return with other stores wanting my business.

Severely over priced including new and used gear (holsters, etc.). The cheapest ammo they had was .80/round for 9mm. I know ammo is expensive but it can be found online for just under half of that. I can buy online, pay to ship, transfer elsewhere and get 3 boxes for LESS than what it would cost me to buy 2 boxes from this store. I was charged 100 for an out of state transfer which I thought was a little steep. Competitors in the area can be quickly found for $75 after a quick google search -- unfortunately I didn't google search this before and just winged it. The guy that owns the place acted like he was giving me a deal saying their usual fee was $150 for a transfer (ya, ok bud). At this point they have all the power and if you want your product you are at their whim or you likely pay (and wait) for your items to ship back and forth to another FFL. After transferring my gun (bought online) and paying all the ludicrous fees (including my transfer, firearm license, sales tax and DOJ) I STILL came out spending less that their STICKER price for the exact same gun (Glock 17). That should give you an idea of how over priced they are. This place is an absolute joke and I will not being going back. Buying a gun in CA sucks enough, don't make it worse by going here. I can't recommend against this place enough. Even the inside was heinous and messy with junk laying around everywhere. Their one saving grace was that the woman who helped me with my paperwork was pleasant. Somehow that was the most enjoyable part of my experience throughout the whole process -- giving my data to the feds. 0/10 I don't recommend.

The staff at City Arms East are Phenomenal! I am a first time purchaser, of a gun. All the staff were knowledgeable and so helpful. There was a large selection of guns and rifles compared to any of the other three gun shops I had visited that day. Great job guys and gal. I shall return to do all my business at this armory. 👍🇺🇸

Are you open for business? Why are you not answering you phone? If you are not open for business, when will you be open?
If both the buyer and seller are present in the shop and they gun is in legal configuration they will do the PPT transfer for the usual $35 (price set by state of California)
You can calll them for price quotes
