The workers here. Are lazy, they are getting paid to play solitaire. If you don't push and get on them. You won't get any results. They do things when they feel like it. I was forced to move. I didn't receive my voucher until way after the move out date. Which caused me to be homeless for going on 4 mths now. I am very high risk to covid, and disabled. When she finally gave me my rta packet. It was a month in. Which only gave me 30 days or less. They need mandatory supervision in that office. For real. I was put top if list for a worker high priority) they assigned me a worker over a month or so ago and I have yet to get a response from them as to this day for assistance.

This place is horrible. All staff is gone at the same time! Just WOW! Plus they never answer there messages, left messages to the housing choice voucher specialists for weeks never heard back. How are you supposed get housing when no one is available to help you. Sooo sad 😔

Marin housing authority manager Barbara had no sympathy when Ridgeway apartments went in lying on my family she sat there as I cried and pleaded not to remove me and she looked at me and said she didn't have no sympathy and they took away my voucher and I had two disabled children but by the grace of God I been without a voucher for almost 11yrs doing just fine her luck may still be the same but if not it's because she took away from a single mother of 3 and had no remorse

The Marin Housing Authority manages the section 8 voucher program and a small portfolio of senior and subsidized units. The waiting list is typically closed and has been for several years. Few. Palandlords are willing to rent to section 8 tenants. The office passes out.lists of other over subscribed rentsl housing managed by Buckelew and EAH. Little help available here!

Call the housing authority about the two lists (section 8 and low income housing) also ask about some of the other agencies that can help.
You go online to section 8 list open near me or in California. Check the areas near you and apply online. Make sure the sight is linked to a housing authority and apply. Make sure you keep a copy of your ticket (receipt) keep watch for letter in mail. Keep your information updated. And wait for your name to hit the top of list. You can always check the status of your application. Apply in other counties. Some areas let you transfer immediately. Some you have to live there a year before you can port (transfer to another location outside of the county you applied). Your all set. Good luck! Wait for your CONGRATULATIONS LETTER

Keep calling. Have you tried telling them you're homeless with a kid? There might be more points if your homeless with kids. I was on the list for 5 years, and I've heard of people being on the list longer.
