Visited this wonderful place as a family. My son was thrilled with the wonderful views. He even drew two pictures of the places he liked best. No sooner had we left home than our daughter wanted to come back here for her birthday. We will definitely come back.

I randomly found this park the other day when looking for hiking spots in the area. There's quite a few trails here for different levels of difficulty. There split off into different areas but I went towards the Bailey Canyon Trail and went towards the Canyon View Nature which was only like 0.5 miles one way and also walked through the small little Nature Trail on the way to Bailey Canyon sign which has a very suspicious bridge. You can also access Jones Peak from the same trail and if I read some of the signs correctly, there are also trails to Mt. Wilson from parking lot The parking lot can be a bit rough as it seems it can be quite packed at times and the lot is very small. I recommend parking on the street if you can for easy access in and out. There is some shade throughout most of the trails but if you are taking those longer trails up the mountain, I recommend bringing hat, sunscreen and of course water for the SoCal heat and sun.

The main trail just keeps going up and you become more and more exposed to the sun. There is a little trail I think it said "view" or "scenic" or something...it goes down off the trial to the left into the canyon. We took this trail on our way back and MAN was it worth it! It was shaded, cool, lots of interesting plants and TONS of beautiful bluebelly lizards! We even saw a blue tailed skink!!! They are only down in the canyon, we didn't see them anywhere else on the hike.

I really enjoy this hike. It's all uphill with some steep hills. Definitely go prepared. Start early, however I had great weather on my side. You Definitely get a workout and you have an amazing view the higher you go. I bet on a clear day I can see forever. This is one hike you should conquer at least once.

No tons of parking and trails might be closed for next couple days due to rain
The (often dry) waterfall is about a mile from the parking lot. I determined this from the image of an area map posted with this maps entry. Scroll down about 100 pics to see a couple of maps posted.
