Unique geological formations, completely break proof...no kid can break it. Fun for families extremely crowded in summer, a natural water park with clear water...no lifeguards and steep slippery rocks, use your own best judgement because that's how it is....dangerous it can be, yes and especially for those short on respect for their immediate terrain. Most beautiful terrain in Southeastern Missouri though, best early in the morning because the sun sets early in this valley. The kind of place people find and are magnetized from then on ...

Shaded trail into the shut-ins. Easy climb over the rocks to get to swimming pools and mini waterfalls

Such a beautiful place. Although found a few items of trash on the trail. A place to get away and reconnect with nature as the cool water brings you back in the moment. Great for climbing, swimming, hiking, and kid friendly. A lot of swallow areas but also some strong rapids after it rains. Please pick up after yourself when leaving to ensure this wonderful place remains beautiful.

Loved it here! Perfect surfaces for climbing with my 7 year old- deep enough for comfortable swimming but not overwhelming for him. Beautiful pink granite boulders made an amazing backdrop for the day. My only complaint is that other people can't seem to follow the take out what you bring in rule. Some of the trash left around is just sad for such a beautiful place.

Questions & Answers

Does this have RV camping

Gay Ann Bakker | Jul 6, 2019

Nope, this a Missouri Department of Conservation area ....camping in MDC is limited and designated. It's off secondary county roads that turn to gravel ... on a hot weekend probably not a great place to squeeze bigger vehicles through? Parking gets full, so full there are over flow lots....best times daybreak weekdays...
