Tachibana had a great variety on their menu. We really loved the sushi menu especially the negi-toro roll (definitely the favorite of the night). We also got the salmon carpaccio as an appetizer which was different from what other Japanese restaurant in the area served. Theirs has cheese on it which was unique and delicious. The entrees selection was also plentiful. I had a variety set (more traditional style Japanese bento) and it was very filling but a touch too expensive in my opinion. My husband had the sukiyaki which he could not finish because we over ordered as per usual. Unfortunately, we left our sukiyaki in a to-go container on the table and we called to come back and get it 15 minutes after but they already threw it out. They were also really busy for a Monday night so the sushi came out after the entree which was a little odd. The staff was really nice. We’ll be back to try other things.

I love this place, food is tasty. But I live from Louisville so it’s 1 hour away from Tachibana.

I had an excellent time! I got the Chicken Tankatsu and it was fantastic. It comes with a salad, miso soup, and rice as well, so you are getting a huge bang for your buck. I will definitely be back!

This place was within walking distance of our hotel, so it was convenient to stop in on our way back to Louisville. I love the design of the building and the interior. It had a "homelike" atmosphere and very clean (even the restrooms--we checked lol). We were seated and the staff was helpful in telling us about the specials for the day. We (my husband and I) were impressed with everything so far, but we wanted to taste the food as well before we made any judgments. The niku udon and karaage were the first items to arrive. The udon broth was an aromatic beef broth with delicious and chewy udon. We both enjoyed this bowl. The karaage however, had potential, but coming from NYC just a few weeks ago, it did not compare to what we had at Ippudo. Plus, some parts looked a tad undercooked. I ordered the grilled saba (mackerel) and it was delicious, but I had to take it to-go because I was getting full. The sashimi was as good as we had in NYC so that was a plus. Overall, we would love to go back because we felt it would be a better experience for dinner versus lunch. Perhaps on a cold, winter night we can opt for a heated sake and explore their dinner menu.
