Wow found a local dog running in the road, picked him up out of traffic. All the while having my own dog in the car, we came here asking for help. After waiting in line they looked up the phone number and said they wouldn't and couldn't help us. Appalled at how a pet "hospital" responded, 1 person willing to act with good human nature to have 5 that would rather do nothing more than offer a phone number.

My boxer ate a foreign object and we could not get into our primary Vet. Portland Animal Hospital worked us right in (twice) and we so appreciate them for that! Dr. Shadowens and the rest of the staff have been so patient and helpful through this process. The technician Allie (I hope I spelled that right) was wonderful. She explained everything thoroughly and took such good care of our baby Reacher.

I would not recommend this place to someone I didn't like. It's not an animal hospital. No way to contact them after hours and their recording directs you to one place no longer in business! If you love your pet and live in Portland, take them to Crocker in Franklin, KY. Trust me, I learned the hard way!

Always there when I need them.. They have seen our horses, goats,cat and our dog and has always done amazing with each one.
