I have tried to meet the owners several times over the past three years. Everytime I ask about the rental she tells me "it just rented" and shuts me down. I dont think they like kids at all!

Pros: The grounds are so beautiful! Super close to town, and to Mount Evans. The managers are very sweet, too. Cons: No laundry room, and the internet is not good. We used a booster and were able to stream TV/movies, but went a co-working space in Golden to get work done. There are cafes in Idaho Springs where you can work, but it's pretty touristy and you always have to pay for parking.

I spent five months at Cottonwood RV Park. It’s location feels remote in the mountains, yet you are just over a mile to I70 and downtown Idaho Springs. The owners live on property and are always out mowing, watering, decorating, etc to make sure the park is well kept and beautiful. Having two dogs, I definitely appreciated that they have a dog friendly section separate from other not-so-dog friendly RVs. I wish more RV parks would do this. The secret highlight of the park to me was the dog trail. A short trail goes up the hill behind the “dog friendly” section. At the top is a landing with gorgeous mountain views. From there it connects to the left to other side of the park. If you go to the right it takes you on a 30 minute round trip hike up the hill, through the trees, and down to the abandoned mine. I loved the solitude and beauty on this trail, and it was a great walk with my dogs right from my doorstep! All in all my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cottonwood RV Park. Next time we are in Colorado we will be back! Thanks so much!
