Holiday Inn & Suites East Peoria, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is no where near a 5 start yet they are charging expensive rates on random days. The beds are hard and you feel like you are sleeping on plywood. Pillows are okay. The only positive is the AC was nice and cool. The breakfast buffet was not great especially since it is not complimentary. You don't even get to order food. The buffet was not great and definitely not worth 11 bucks.

We were not happy at all. We were in room 623 and I don't know how you can rent that room, I believe the heating or cooling system is above it and it sounds like a helicopter that never stops, finally switched, the TV was fuzzy, food from previous guest in fridge and what hotel doesn't have microwaves in room? Was definitely a disappointment and won't be going back.

Front staff were kind. Room was good. Problems: 1. Restaurant - poor food, very expensive 2. Room was not cleaned even though I requested it. 3. Exercise bike (the only one that was not recliner) not working, didn't get fixed - so much for my half ironman training and one big reason for my reservation was for exercise room. 4. I asked them to email me my bill. Did not happen. 5. No coffee supplies. Only way I could get them was to go down to front desk myself as only 1 person staffed at front desk and no other available employee to bring to my room.

The hotel was very clean and new feeling. Had to wait for someone to come to the front desk to get us checked in. She then immediately left again just as another person was coming to check in. I have never experienced that before. No employees were wearing masks even though the state has a mandate about it. Made me feel a little uncomfortable. Hotel itself was great. Beds were comfortable, shower was great. The gym was well equipped and probably one of the nicest I have been in. Pool was really nice as well. Breakfast buffet was a little underwhelming. Dinner at the steakhouse was delicious though!
