I needed my 35-year-old speakers repaired and initially tried a shop in Elgin/Dundee but could not get a response. Then I tried Peckens and the lady was very nice, and recommended I email Syd about the problem. Syd got back to me promptly and said what the problem was, that they could fix it, what the cost was, and how long it would take. So I brought the speakers in and it all went as planned. The folks there got the job done and now the sound is great. They even gave me some extra speaker wire to help me out. I would definitely use them again for repairs and I'm very happy with the experience.

Took my Marantz MA 700 monoblock to Peckens after I was referred to by Simply Stereo in Palatine, Illinois. The amp was repaired within 3 days!!! Syd, the owner, called me with updates on the repair daily. It needed a new transformer and the labor and parts charge were beyond reasonable plus it comes with a 90 day warranty. I am now gathering my other vintage preamp, PS Audio 4.6, to take there for repair. When you first walk in it looks like a giant tv repair warehouse but that’s misleading because Syd and his team work on all electronics. I’ve taken stereo gear to other repair places but I’m beyond impressed with the work done and the speedy repair at Peckens. Jackie his receptionist is very nice, too. Highly Recommend! 👍👍👍

Great experience!! I called up this place on Tuesday, brought my TV in the same day for them to take a look (for $40). Sid had my TV repaired the next day!! I asked to test the HDMI ports he replaced and he was more than willing to show me even while he had a customer waiting. Sid provides excellent customer service and goes above and beyond for you! Highly recommended!
