I shop at Aladin Books every time I visit Los Angeles. The store is open and bright with natural sunlight from its many windows. The shelves are well labeled indicating the genre and subgenre of books. They have a combination of used and new books written in Korean on the shelves. While Aladin has a large selection of used CD and DVDs, they are primarily by non-Korean artists. They do have a small shelving unit located closer to the cash register that contains new and used CDs by Korean artists. I have yet to shop at Aladin without leaving with a wonderful selection of Korean CDs. The staff is very pleasant and always helpful. My only suggestion for Aladin Books would be to offer a larger selection of Korean music CDs and Korean DVDs. While there are three Korean music CD stores in Koreatown, there are no stores selling DVDs of Korean movie and TV shows.

Massive selection of Korean books and good selection of used English books too. They have some great accessories like mugs, chargers, lights, notebooks, etc. Low prices and friendly staff. Find something great here!

Absolutely love this place! I'm not too sure how their trade-in/selling process works, but I thoroughly enjoy the selection of books that they have on hand. It's constantly changing and cycling through new books that they get. Their books are mostly written in Korean. I'd say 70% are Korean books and 30% are foreign books translated into Korean (largely originating from Japan, the US, and the UK). It's hard to find Korean books in the area, and Aladdin is a hidden treasure trove for them. If you're learning the Korean language or are looking to relearn it as an ethnic Korean, this is the place!
