A great afternoon destination in Carlsbad! Park in the public train station, and you’ll see the main entrance is in the back behind the Main Street. It is hard to find the entrance from the Main Street; you have to go down a little alley way between Boba and Campfire. We shared a couple bottles of the Sauvignon blanc (delicious). Very friendly service. They had a nice cheese and meat menu, but we wanted something a little more, so our server recommended the coffee shop Baba right next door. We got to-go salads and sandwiches, which they brought right over to us at the winery and we were able to enjoy with our wine. Highly recommend for a lovely afternoon if you’re in the area!

Carruth is great. They have really tasty wine, including some unique blends and grapes. I was also pleasantly surprised by how great their cheese, pesto, and bread were. Our server Phillip was fantastic, fun, made great recommendations, and somehow served like 10 tables by himself.

One of the best wine bars in Carlsbad, located a couple of blocks from downtown. The wine is pretty strong, so don’t get fooled after drinking 3 glasses, you will find yourself a little tipsy. Overall, nice staff and they welcome everyone and they don’t shy away anyone. Remember to turn left, it’s in alley way next to the outdoor restaurant.
