Smaller than it's more popular neighbor but way less busy. Well tended and owners are young and very nice couple. Alas, out of apples but we picked some nice pears

Great place for organic apple picking. Be sure to check out the "secret pears" beyond the parking.

WONDERFUL PLACE and WONDERFUL variety of ORGANIC apples & pears!! We go and pick our own fruit here EVERY year!! The ONE thing that's been a challenge in the past is that when u look up their location on Google it seems to show up as Volcan organic farms (or something close to that, maybe just Volcan farms, but has Volcan in its name)

Another beautiful California day. Took a scenic hour ride from our hotel in Valley View to enjoy an afternoon of orchard apple picking, pie eating and downtown Julian.

Yeah, they have them on the tress ready to pick😊
I came here to ask exactly the same question. The website says it's expired, so I can't tell if Apple Starr is even still in business.
We are closed for the season. See you next year!
Pears
You can find pear Orchards nearby and the pears are cheaper and juicier
Hi! We didn’t see any dogs when we visited and if I recall on their website it said no dogs.
Check back around that time. The initial idea was to be open until Oct. 5th at least but will be open for as long as we have fruit.
Late summer: The end of August through October The weather affects the crop, of course - last year, we went at the end of September and most of the apples had already been picked.
Apple season 2018 is over. The season seems to depend on rain and heat, and started Labor Day weekend this year, and ended by the 3rd week of September or so.
They are out of apples. We were there 9/23/18 and they had plenty of pears - mostly Bartlett. $25 for the first bag, $15 for each additional bag. I'm no farmer, but I would guess that they'd be completely out of everything by late October.
Did you get answer?
You'll need to call the orchard.
