I did their demo program and tested out a handful of rackets before finding the perfect one. When it came time to purchase the racket, the price was less than online surprisingly. The demo program is awesome as it’s $20 for a month, and if you purchase a racket, you get that money back in the form of a discount

Customer service is amazing. I always buy racquets here after a demo (which is a wonderful program), and they also give you a discount if you decline to have the racquet strung. Recently, my daughter broke strings (that I strung myself) 3 times in a week and brought her racquet to a nearby different shop, but they just said the bumper guard is too old and out of stock and recommended to buy a new racquet. I next visited Racket Stringing Workshop to demo a new racquet for my daughter, but Jason instead suggested me to buy a replacement bumper guard at Amazon and then bring it for replacement. That's what I did, and it saved me a lot of money because the bumper guard and labor charge for replacement cost less than $20 in total. What an honest business!

A great tennis store! Recommend to every tennis player who needs tennis gears! Racquet Demo Program is great for a new racquet! (https://lajollatennis.com/services-2/#Demo-Program) Basically you can try 3 racquets at a time and keep rotating for 3 new racquets in a month. You just need to pay $20, which is deducted from the price of the racket if you buy one later. For the two racquets I bought here, I tried 3 and 5 rounds of demo. That's more than 10 or even 15 racquets! So you can try quite a lot different brands, Wilson, Babolat, Yonex, Head, etc. People there are nice, knowledgeable, and patient. While demoing the racquets, they can conclude what's your preference on head size, weight, balance, stiffness, etc. even you are not an expert but just tell them which you like among the demos. After narrowing down the search, you can find the best fit. Similar experience for shoes and bags picking. Always provide numerous options for you to try on. One thing I did notice was that for me the final pick was among the first ones I tried :). This is what you cannot get for the online shopping. They also do the stringing super-fast and usually you can pick it up the same day. While waiting you can go for a walk to La Jolla Cove nearby :)

We have implemented cleanliness and social distancing protocols. One person (or family) at a time for service inside the shop at the counter, one at the shoe area. At the same time we have two chairs outside where we can serve you - try on shoes, setup stringing, sign-out demos. We also offer a 'grab-and-go service' where you can use our drop-off system – fill out a stringing form outside and leave it with your racket and we will call or txt you when you can pick-up your rackets. Masks are required for service. More details are listed on our website. https://lajollatennis.com/hours/
