Pretty poor service and communication. Was promised service between 1 and 5 PM on Saturday. An hour and 15 minutes prior to start of window, I was notified that technician would arrive between 4:39 and 6:09 PM, but he never showed and never called! Absolutely no text, call or email from anyone on missed appointment. When checking link in original text, appointment had been moved from Saturday to Weds! If you want someone to show up, try a different service.

My husband and I both took off work to be home the entire window of time quoted 1-4). They ran late, and we accommodated that too. As of 9 pm it still said the technician was on the way, but then the tracking abruptly ended, claiming "no one answered the phone or was at home". The technician LIED- we had been home 8 hours waiting for them! We got onto customer service, was told to hold by 3 people (and then hung up on) and they would not give us the next available appt (even though this one was missed because of THEIR worker!) We had no choice but to reschedule. Then today, another technician came for 20 min and said he would need to reschedule because 2 people were needed to move the washing machine. I offered to move it with him- he said that's a liability and refused. I then asked that he 1) call dispatch to see if someone could help him 2) call a colleague and he refused both saying they don't have a dispatcher. I asked why the first technician did not request 2 people be here to start with, and he said, "I don't know". Zero accountability. Zero customer service. Zero reliability. It's clear they take NO PRIDE in their work, couldn't give a &$^! whether customers are satisfied. They simply don't care and have no incentive to help in an efficient manner. It's easier on them to do these small trips and say- nope- can't do it! than actually work. No wonder Sears is going out of business. DO NOT GET YOUR SERVICE THROUGH SEARS- and you should definitely turn down the home warranty they try to rope you into- I can think of no worse customer experience than this incident!

The technician was professional, but the part was 4 times the highest price I found online for the OEM part and the labor was nearly $300 for a 30 minute replacement. I understand there will be some markup, but this was gouging. Next time I will replace the part myself.

This was the worst repair experience I ever had. Technician came out and after pushing a few buttons told me I needed a new ice maker. That is what I had figured anyway. Then he told me it would cost $501 for part and labor to install. I told him that was ridiculous. He told me he could order the part which was $114 for me if I wanted to install it myself. So I had to pay for the part and $90 for his service call. The part came (it was refurbished - I assumed it would be new) and I installed in less than an hour with a little help from a friend. Works great. Will never call Sears repair again.
