Friendly staff but the park isn't very good. There are dozens of other springs with more to offer. You can kayak, canoe, swim and camp here but each is pretty basic. One hiking trail (a small loop) and it was closed. The shower facility was very annoying as the water would turn off after about a minute. A LOT of ticks. Swimming area was ok but was crowded on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Camp site was near a highway so heard cars zooming by late at night. They do offer firewood among other things but no souvenirs. Just feels like the National Park Service forgot about this place.

This park is certainly unique, it's not State park so the annual state park pass doesn't apply here. It is rather expensive to visit. The springs overall are quite beautiful. Not to crowded. They are deeper than other springs I've visited and the water is clear and beautiful.

I've been going to Alexander Springs since I was a small child. I've always loved how crystal clear the water is and how the temperature never gets above 72degrees. Camping at Alexander is very reasonable priced. They have a lot of campsites to choose from. You'll definitely encounter at least some small wildlife like suirrels and foxes. You might even get to see a deer roaming around the park. If you spend the day at the swimming area you'll see fish and turtles and occasionally an alligator. There are quite a few trails for hiking that run along the river. You can rent canoes there also and get to see the wildlife more personally. Overall I love Alexander Springs as much today as I did when I was a child
